About the job Cad Designer Interior Trim

CAD designer specializing in automotive interior trim using CATIA V5 or NX, your role involves creating detailed 3D models of interior components such as dashboard panels, door trims, center consoles, and other decorative or functional elements. Here are some specific tasks you might undertake:
Conceptual Design: Collaborating with automotive designers and engineers to translate design concepts and sketches into 3D models using CATIA V5 or NX. Iterating on initial designs to meet aesthetic, ergonomic, and functional requirements. Surface Modeling: Utilizing advanced surface modeling tools in CATIA V5 or NX to create complex and visually appealing surfaces for interior trim components. Ensuring smooth transitions, curvature continuity, and precise fit and finish. Assembly Design: Creating digital assemblies of interior trim components within the vehicle cabin using CATIA V5 or NX. Ensuring proper alignment, clearance, and interfacing with other vehicle systems such as HVAC, electrical wiring, and structural components. Material Selection and Visualization: Incorporating realistic material properties and textures into 3D models using CATIA V5 or NX to accurately represent the appearance and feel of interior trim materials such as leather, plastic, wood, or metal. Detailing and Embellishments: Adding intricate details, patterns, stitching, logos, or other decorative elements to interior trim components using CATIA V5 or NX. Paying attention to small design features that contribute to the overall visual appeal and perceived quality of the interior. Fit and Finish Optimization: Conducting virtual fit and finish assessments using CATIA V5 or NX to ensure that interior trim components fit seamlessly within the vehicle cabin and align with design tolerances and standards. Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with cross-functional teams including designers, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing specialists to coordinate design changes, resolve issues, and ensure that interior trim designs meet project timelines and objectives. Design Validation and Simulation: Performing structural, thermal, or ergonomic simulations using CATIA V5 or NX to validate the performance and durability of interior trim components under real-world operating conditions. Making design refinements based on simulation results. Manufacturing Support: Generating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for interior trim components using CATIA V5 or NX to facilitate manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, or thermoforming.* Continuous Improvement: Participating in design reviews, lessons learned sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for enhancing design efficiency, quality, and innovation in automotive interior trim
