Director of Marketing & Communications

As a Director of Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the development and successful implementation of high-impact marketing and communication campaigns, including the public relations plannings, in line with the overall strategy, driving measurable, incremental revenues for Rooms, F&B, and Spa.



A strong leader who brings a creative approach and a commercial mind-set along with a proven experience of building strategic marketing plans.



Key Responsibilities:



As the Head of Marketing & Communications at Mandarin Oriental Marrakech, you will be responsible for:



Communication :




  • Support the development of a brand, PR and communications strategy to in line with agreed targets

  • Driving brand reputation, establishing property positioning and visibility of the resort via all communications channels such as media, content, digital, consumer marketing and partnership activity.

  • Overseeing all matters relating to media and public relations for the hotel and liaise with local media, in-house overseas media, colleagues, the general public and relevant stakeholders to drive positive publicity, awareness and to effectively handle media requirements.

  • Overseeing all matters relating to media relations, advertising, collateral production and other marketing communications for both hotels.

  • Develop local CRM strategy.

  • Overseeing all social media channels strategy, promoting the hotel through positive and enticing content.

  • Promoting the image of the hotel through positive publicity, suitable partnerships and appropriate awareness campaigns.

  • Communicating with the MOHG Communications Offices and PR Agencies with a view of achieving properly positioned print and online media exposure.


Marketing :




  • Develop and implement an annual integrated marketing plan, in line with the hotel’s commercial strategy and within budget guidelines.

  • Manage the rollout of marketing campaigns and oversee the execution of all promotional activities across all channels, ensuring brand adherence and alignment of communications and messaging online and offline

  • Oversee the creative development of promotional materials, eDMs, website content, advertisements, Marketing Collaterals and other marketing-related projects.

  • Collaborate with agencies, third-party suppliers, printers, and other service providers to help marketing projects come to fruition.

  • Regularly track, analyze and report, weekly, monthly and quarterly, on campaigns and channels’ performance.

  • Analyze customer insights, market trends and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.

  • Ensure all channels are fully maximized.

  • Proactively interact with multiple internal departments to ensure successful delivery of a variety of brand and tactical projects that support the hotel’s business objectives.

  • Continually seek out and implement new ideas for increasing the level of engagement and conversion rate.


Public Relations:




  • Manage all matters relating to media and public relations for the hotel. 

  • Manage the Public Relations collaborations with Media and Influencers including collaborations with International PR Agencies

  • Maintain the Hotel exposure and great reputation in local and international media through media events, print, radio, television, online, collaborations etc.

  • Support DOMC achieving the Public Relations goals and strategies as highlighted in the Hotel’s Communications Plan.

  • Manage opportunities with Luxury Brands for Photoshoots, events, product launching.

  • Ensure regular exposure in local and international media through print, online, radio and other platforms, sharing Hotel News and Promotions, new services, and the unique selling propositions.

  • Maintain strong relationships with local and international media.

  • Create bespoke itineraries and host all local and international media and influencers visits.

  • Keep press kit, marketing collaterals, online platforms and photographic library updated.

Requirements:




  • At least 10 years of experience in a Marketing/Communication environment, preferably within the Travel & Hospitality industry, Fashion or Luxury Goods

  • Great presentation and Public Relations experience

  • Fluent in French & English

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to work in a team and under demanding environment

  • Great time management and problem-solving skills
