Job Overview Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator (Residential & Commercial) to support quantity surveying and cost analysis for their building projects. In this role, you will analyze architectural plans, perform accurate material take-offs, and develop project schedules to ensure projects remain profitable and on track.
Schedule Flexible Schedule (20 hours per week)
Responsibilities Provide detailed quantity surveying ("Quants") for residential and commercial construction projects. Break down job requirements into specific material lists, such as tonnages for rebar. Review architect plans and assign accurate pricing to every phase of the project. Develop project schedules to track progress across multiple phases. Estimate costs specifically to ensure the firm maintains a healthy profit margin. Identify opportunities to source materials or labor efficiently to lower project overhead. Maintain regular communication with the firm to update project estimates as plans change.
Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing interactions. Proven experience in construction estimation or as a Quantity Surveyor. Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and engineering plans remotely. Strong analytical skills for material quantity take-offs and cost breakdown. Proficiency in construction estimating software and general digital tools. Detail-oriented approach to project scheduling and material forecasting. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
