Kalmar is looking for a QEHS Advisor to join our team of professionals.
The position will be responsible for the development, maintenance and day-to-day coordination of our Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) management system and operational practices to meet customer and applicable country legal obligations.
This position is based in Casablanca`s office in Morocco and is reporting to the Regional Service Operations Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities



Assist management in providing workers with the safest possible environment for to work safely i.e. worksite hazard assessments, Take 5, leaders safety walks, etc. Maintain Morocco requirements for QEHS maintaining customer or regulator operating standards, regulations or accreditation requirements Conduct worksite inspections, audits, prepare and communicate reports identifying potential hazards and areas of continuous improvement to stakeholders Coordinate delivery of QEHS induction training to new workers and refresher as needed including induction requirements for customer site entry and operations Participate in the development, implementation and review of QEHS standards, processes, tools, audits, management plans, guidelines, safe work method statements and safe work procedure and other documentation as required Monitor all incidents as reported; assess incidents and identify incidents requiring Kalmar Global reporting or adjustment in injury classification Use the Benchmark system to capture, record and manage records including corrective actions and evidence relating to incident investigations Manage worker injury and compensation claims in accordance with relevant country legislation or requirements Act as the representative between worker, insurer and the business Assist in developing QEHS training and development plan that included training in common task hazard awareness for all workers and liaise with external parties to ensure cost effective design and consistency delivery of programs.

What you’ll need to succeed



We’re looking for a proactive candidate with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic and leadership.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in work/occupational health and safety Previous experience working in a high-risk industry environment, i.e. port related operations, transport or heavy equipment maintenance would be an advantage Sound knowledge and previous exposure to relevant country QEHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, accreditations and standards. At least 3 years previous experience working within a QEHS or Safety role operating within high-risk environments. High-risk tasks could include; working at heights, heavy machinery operation, conducting plant maintenance, use of forklifts, elevated work platforms or power tools Knowledge of worker injury management and general worker health programs Have conducted incident investigation and experience in incident management Previous experience in undertaking internal QEHS audits and inspection Negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) Fluency in English and French - both written and spoken Full driving licence.
