Mission: Collaborate and provide support on projects carried out by his/her unit/department, in keeping with the instructions given by his/her supervisor, performing the tasks delegated to him/her to meet the project’s needs. The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor at a Water Treatment Plant is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and environmental programs to ensure the well-being of employees and the protection of the environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace in a water treatment facility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Management:
o Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and programs to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.
o Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
o Promote a culture of safety by providing training, coaching, and guidance to employees.
o Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
2. Environmental Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
o Monitor environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
o Develop and implement environmental management programs to minimize the facility's impact on the environment.
o Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
3. Training and Education:
o Conduct safety and environmental training sessions for employees to raise awareness and ensure understanding of policies and procedures.
o Keep abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes, and communicate them to the team.
4. Emergency Response:
o Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents related to safety or environmental concerns.
o Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness and the efficient response to emergencies.
5. Record-Keeping and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of safety and environmental data, including incident reports, inspections, and training records.
o Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
6. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
o Identify potential risks and hazards associated with water treatment processes and equipment and implement appropriate control measures.
o Collaborate with engineers and other plant personnel to design and implement safety improvements.
7. Communication and Collaboration:
o Collaborate with other departments to ensure that safety and environmental considerations are integrated into daily operations and projects.
o Communicate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and external stakeholders as necessary.

Requisitos del candidato

Degree and Master with specialization in HSE C2 in English and French. Other languages are a plus. Good comunicative skills
