The SysAdmin role is to plan, organize, and build the systems and infrastructure integration for our cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding and experience with concepts such as DevOps, CI/CD, SaaS, networking, high availability, and performance testing. This role will also be working closely with the architecture and engineering teams to implement, design, and perform implementation/configuration changes.


Responsibilities
Work in a fast-paced development environment on multiple projects, communicating and collaborating across functional teams.
Work closely with product owners, developers, and ops teams to design, deploy and automate a secure and standardized infrastructure
Architect new and/or migrate existing applications to use secure and standardized infrastructure components in a cloud environment optimized for scale, performance and reliability.
Ownership of the 24/7 health of multiple applications and their operating environments, supporting dynamic feature sets.
Develop proactive monitoring, reporting, and alerting for application scalability and performance to meet capacity, response time, and uptime requirements.
Drive critical problems to resolution, working to identify and understand root causes throughout the platform, defining corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Continually tune systems for maximum efficiency.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Create and maintain blueprints, policies, and build out development, production and staging environments.


Requirements
Advanced skills in Linux administration
Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python
Experience with AWS services and architecture
Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Foreman, or Ansible
Extensive Experience in Web and proxy applications including Apache, Nginx
Experience with multiple database technologies including MySQL (MariaDB), NoSQL
Extensive experience with networking including VPN (IPSec, IKEv2, OpenVPN, WireGuard), DNS, BGP
Fundamental understanding of security concepts and best practices
Experience with Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence
Expertise in multiple version control systems including Git and Subversion
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of professionals globally, including outsourced development teams
