Position Information Position Type Professional Staff Faculty Track Position Title Academic Applications Business Analyst Employment Status Full Time Months 12 Campus Portland, ME Description Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Academic Applications Business Analyst position is highly technical. This position will identify needs throughout the University as they relate to our ERP system and supporting applications, enhance existing system functionalities, and coordinate with internal and external groups to drive the adoption of our UNE -supported academic applications. System duties are performed on various operating systems and applications with a heavy emphasis on Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Ethos, Ellucian Data Connect, Ellucian Apply, Ellucian Communicate, Ellucian Experience, Ellucian EIP , Ellucian Forms, Box, and Hyland. The Academic Applications Business Analyst collaborates with their supervisor and colleagues each day and actively manages information with their supervisor and among their peers.

This position offers a flexible work schedule, with an anticipated schedule of 2 remote days and 3 on-campus days per week (must be able to attend scheduled meetings on both the Biddeford and Portland campuses). Responsibilities
Identify inefficiencies within internal systems and processes by gathering feedback from stakeholders to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee the workflow of person and student data creation in between Banner and third-party admissions and employee systems. Test systems and updates for functionalities to ensure user readiness. Work with internal and external groups to streamline existing UNE workflows into the EIP and Forms systems. Assist in documentation and publication of business processes, process maps, network, workflow, data models, or other types of diagrams and technical artifacts within UNE supported applications. Assist with University efforts with the transition of user data and retention policies into Box. Support UNE programs in the deployment of admissions applications within Apply. Support user management efforts in Ellucian Person Manager. Work with the Enterprise Applications team in the development of Ellucian Communicate and associated communication strategies with any identified department. Participates in the implementation, and supports the development of training and implementation material. Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations following best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Support the creation of groups in Okta, manage Permissions to apps, and understand integration and relationships between OKTA and other university apps. Support the Enterprise Applications team with the development of Ethos integrations with third-party systems. Support the Enterprise Applications team with the development of Experience Cards and their connection to third-party systems. Provide ad hoc reports to support third-party systems. Utilize monitoring systems to ensure proper operational functionality and uptime. Respond to alerts and system-down incidents in a timely fashion. Provide higher tier support for help desk user escalations. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field with 4 or more years of experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired Experience with ERP databases, report creation, and database extensibility Experience with permission controls and third-party integrations Ability to work with a third-party vendor to document steps needed to complete an assigned task Experience managing Apache HTTP , Tomcat, and SSL certificates is preferred Working knowledge of networking (DNS , routing, firewalls) Experience with OKTA integrations Experience with generating Ethos connections with third-party systems is a plus Exceptional problem-solving skills, technical skills, and analytical skills are a must Experience with automation and scripting tools (shell scripts, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, OpsWorks) Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing business needs Must be able to work well with cross-functional teams and be able to work effectively with all levels within the organization Ability to interact effectively with various University personnel, students, and outside individuals/organizations
Preferred Experience
Experience working with Windows HA technologies such as failover clustering & load balancing Apache HTTP , Tomcat, and SSL certificates VMware experience Windows administration NetApp and Rubrik Experience supporting Oracle or MySQL database servers Experience working with ITIL change management software
