Taste & Wellbeing Commercial Director for West Central Africa
We are looking for a 'Commercial Director' for our Taste & Wellbeing Business for the West and Central Africa (WCA) region. Based in our Casablanca office and reporting to the Regional Taste & Wellbeing Head for the SAMEA region, you will lead a multifunctional team of about 20 people - based locally and remotely in other important markets in the WCA region, from Sales, Marketing, and the Flavours Creation & Application teams. You will be part of the SAMEA Leadership team , you will also contribute to the success and aspirations of the wider Givaudan.
In this exciting role, you will drive the four focus areas:
Strategy & Leadership:
- Help design the Flavours Business strategy for the WCA region, and take full ownership to lead the local implementation.
- Build and implement a growth strategy for the West central Africa region, coordinating the elaboration of strategic plans for Key Accounts in the region.
- Build an inclusive and creative environment, in which all the team members are motivated and can contribute to the best of their ability.
- Foster a culture of empowerment, sharing, and accountability.
- Lead teams, and coordinate the activity of the Key Account Manager's and other support teams in the region, creating a performing environment with motivated individuals and ensuring the most efficient management of resources.
- Represent Givaudan in key external industry associations and platforms.
Business Management:
- Develop a deep understanding of the business potential in the West and Central Africa region.
- Grow the Givaudan Flavours business in the region by managing top and bottom lines.
- Monitor the Sales and Gross Profit Margin (including KPI's and budget) for the region, taking corrective actions to ensure our goals are achieved.
- Monitor competitor activity.
- Manage the expense budget.
People Development:
- Lead the Sales, Marketing, and Flavours Creation & Application teams in the region and manage their performance and development.
- Develop and promote existing talents in the region.
- Work with key Partners, HR Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition teams to recruit and develop local talent pipelines.
- Mentor team members.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop partnerships with Key Customer Accounts, including relationships with their senior-level management.
- Create opportunities for Givaudan to participate in all core lists and key Customer briefs.
- Debrief projects with the Account Management team to understand successes and failures; implement corrective actions.
- Ensure implementation of negotiated pricing agreements; support Customer Care in managing Supply Chain; support the credit management team in collecting receivables.

Your professional profile includes:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in a Commercial or Operations role with a successful leadership experience at least 5 years, in a multinational work environment.
- Have people management experience in leading mid-sized and performing multi-functional teams in a wide region and remit.
- A passion and appreciation for the world of Flavours.
- Knowledge of customers, competition, and an existing customer network in WCA region will be ideal. Experience in additional countries or markets in the region.
- Apply strategic planning, budgeting, and develop strong relationships.
- Able to travel frequently in the WCA region (:20-30% of the time).
