About the Job
The IMP Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and buying goods, materials and services to meet the company’s operational requirements, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
Key Responsibilities
· Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for high-quality goods, services, and equipment at competitive prices for CAPEX projects.
· Supplier Identification and Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and establish a qualified supplier base to meet CAPEX needs.
· RFQ and Bid Management: Manage sourcing, review vendor proposals, and propose the most suitable suppliers.
· Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favourable agreements aligning with CAPEX objectives and compliance requirements.
· Contract Management: Elaborate and oversee contracts, ensuring proper execution, performance, and timely renewals or amendments / manage efficiently potential claims by clearly addressing issues and assessing properly closing options.
· Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options within CAPEX projects / Support project cost control and scheduling.
· Risk Mitigation: Assess and manage risks to safeguard project timelines and budgets during procurement / supply chain process.
· Supplier Relationship Management: Foster collaboration, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement with key suppliers.
· Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements throughout CAPEX procurement.
· Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor KPIs to measure supplier performance, contract compliance, and overall procurement efficiency.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, finance, legal, and project management teams to align procurement with CAPEX project requirements.
· Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements influencing CAPEX procurement decisions.
Qualifications
· Experience of Plant and Machinery Procurement and Capital Expenditure Purchases
· Experience of purchasing at an international level and negotiating in foreign currency.
· Experience in contract and risk management.
· Experience with INCOTERMS and international imports.
· Possession or studying towards MCIPS accreditation.
· IT skills (MS Office Package).
· Good awareness of Procurement best practice procedures.
· Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
· Commercial and contractual awareness.
· Analytical & problem-solving skills.
· Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
