Main Mission
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the university's network security infrastructures. He plays a key role in protecting networks against cyber threats and in continuously improving the university's security posture.
Responsibilities
- Design and Architecture: Develop and implement robust network security architectures.
- Network Solutions Implementation: Install, configure, and maintain network security devices such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi controllers.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor networks for suspicious activities and anomalies. Use SIEM tools for log and incident analysis.
- Incident Response: Manage network security incidents, conduct investigations, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Network Policy Management: Develop and update network policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Technological Watch: Stay informed about the latest network security trends and new threats to adapt security strategies.
Required Skills
- Technical:
- Expertise in network security and network protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, MSTP, Vxlan, DNS, etc.).
- In-depth experience with Cisco Wi-Fi controllers.
- Knowledge of threat and vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Logpoint, Splunk, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, etc.).
- Mastery of network segmentation concepts and securing cloud environments.
- Experience with email security and data protection technologies.
- Analytical:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Personal:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Leadership and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Education: Engineering degree in computer science, network, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar network security role.
- Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Enterprise or Service Provider, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
