Job :

1. Job Objective



As part of UM6P's sports policy, the Fitness Coach is responsible for organizing and leading weight training and fitness activities, by offering programs adapted to the different levels of participants. The goal is to promote fitness, maintain physical condition, or prepare for competitive sports activities, in a safe, dynamic, and supportive environment.



2. Main Responsibilities



Leading weight training and fitness classes:



  • Lead and supervise individual and group sessions adapted to the levels and goals of the participants (students, staff, guests).
  • Assess participant levels through tests and guide them to appropriate groups.
  • Develop personalized programs according to each person's physical abilities and goals.
  • Advise on the correct use of equipment (cardio, weight machines, etc.).
  • Correct postures and techniques to ensure optimal results safely.
  • Suggest referrals to other professionals (dietitian, sports doctor) if necessary.

Group leadership and dynamics:



  • Organize and lead group fitness classes in a motivating and supportive atmosphere.
  • Create engagement and loyalty among participants.

Monitoring and safety:



  • Ensure the safety of users and the proper use of equipment.
  • Regularly check the condition of the facilities and report any malfunctions.
  • Apply hygiene and safety rules, and intervene in emergencies (first aid).
  • Participate in light maintenance and tidying of equipment.

3. Performance Indicators



  • Participant satisfaction rate (surveys, direct feedback)
  • Attendance and loyalty rates for sessions
  • Number of incidents or malfunctions reported and resolved
  • Cleanliness and organization of sports facilities

5. Profile Sought



Education and experience:



  • STAPS degree or equivalent diploma in sports professions (fitness/weight training option preferred).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in an academic or community setting.

Technical skills:



  • Solid sports knowledge and good understanding of weight training, fitness, and cardio-training practices.
  • Mastery of personalized training principles and injury prevention.
  • Basic knowledge of sports nutrition (appreciated).

Required profile :


Profil recherché





Formation et expérience :





  • Licence STAPS ou diplôme équivalent dans les métiers du sport (option fitness/musculation souhaitée).

  • 3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans une fonction similaire, idéalement dans un environnement académique ou associatif.



Compétences techniques :





  • Solide culture sportive et bonne connaissance des pratiques de musculation, fitness, cardio-training.

  • Maîtrise des principes d’entraînement personnalisés et de la prévention des blessures.

  • Notions en nutrition sportive (appréciées).
