الواجبات والمسؤوليات
بعثة الهيئة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا هي تقديم أفكار وأفعال من أجل أفريقيا متمكنة ومتحولة؛ مستندة إلى أجندة 2030 وأجندة 2063. ستسترشد هذه المهمة بخمس توجهات استراتيجية جديدة للهيئة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا وهي: تعزيز موقف الهيئة كمؤسسة معرفة رائدة تستند إلى مكانتها وامتيازها الفريدين لتقديم حلول عالمية لمشاكل القارة وأخذ الحلول المحلية إلى القارة؛ تطوير خيارات سياسة الاقتصاد الكلي والسياسات الهيكلية لتسريع التنويع الاقتصادي وخلق فرص العمل؛ تصميم وتنفيذ نماذج تمويل مبتكرة للبنية التحتية وللأصول البشرية والمادية والاجتماعية من أجل أفريقيا تتحول؛ المساهمة في حلول للتحديات الإقليمية والعابرة للحدود، مع تركيز على حفظ السلام والأمن والشمول الاجتماعي كمجال تنموي مهم؛ الدعوة لموقف أفريقيا على المستوى العالمي وتطوير استجابات إقليمية كمساهمة في قضايا الحوكمة العالمية. يقع مكتب الهيئة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا في الرباط، المغرب، ويخدم سبع دول أعضاء: الجزائر، مصر، ليبيا، موريتانيا، المغرب، السودان، وتونس. هدفه الرئيسي المساهمة في تحقيق التحول البنيوي والتنمية المتوازنة من خلال سياسات مالية كلية سليمة، والتمويل من أجل التنمية، وإدارة الدين؛ الاندماج الإقليمي، التنويع الاقتصادي، التصنيع؛ ومقاومة التغير المناخي. كما يولي المكتب اهتماماً خاصاً بالتحديات التي تخص الدول ذات الدخل المتوسط وسياسات يمكن أن تساعدها في تعزيز النمو الاقتصادي الشامل، والقدرة التنافسية، والتنويع لتفادي فخ الدخل المتوسط. وظائفه الأساسية هي: تعزيز قدرة الدول الأعضاء في الإقليم الفرعي على تصميم وتنفيذ السياسات والاستراتيجيات الوطنية لإيجاد عمل مستدام؛ المساهمة في تنفيذ أولويات التنمية الفرعية بما يتوافق مع أجندة 2030 وأجندة 2063 مع مراعاة مُسبقة لوجهات نظر الشباب والجندر؛ تحسين السياسات الاقتصادية والمالية، ولضمان نمو مستدام؛ تقديم المساعدة الفنية ذات الصلة للدول الأعضاء وللمجتمعات الاقتصادية الإقليمية والمنظمات الحكومية الدولية في بناء قدراتها لاستدامة التحول الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والسياسي، مع تركيز خاص على التوظيف والمهارات والتنمية المتوازنة، بهدف ضمان نمو دامش، مع مراعاة الوصول إلى فرص متكافئة للنساء والشباب.
سيتم التدريب تحت الإشراف المباشر لضابط الاتصال وتوجيه المدير العام للمكتب الاقليمي فرع شمال أفريقيا للأمم المتحدة لجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا ومقره الرباط، المغرب و/أو رئيس قسم الاتصال بالأمم المتحدة اللجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا، مقره أديس أبابا (إثيوبيا). المسئوليات
تحت الإشراف المباشر لضابط الاتصال، سيقوم المتدرب المختار بالقيام بالمهمات التالية ودعم إنجاز المهام المرتبطة، بما في ذلك توليد تقارير وسرد قصصي ذات صلة. 1. المشاركة في التحضيرات الإعلامية والاتصالات المتعلقة بالفعاليات التي ينظمها المكتب الفرعي الإقليمي لأفريقيا الشمالية بالأمم المتحدة ويغطيها؛ 2. المساعدة في رصد تقارير الإعلام (محلية ودولية) لفعاليات الهيئة وكتابة تقارير التغطية؛ 3. المساعدة في تغطية فعاليات الهيئة من خلال المساهمة في تدوين الملاحظات لأغراض الاتصال، والبيانات الصحفية، ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي؛ 4. المساعدة في تصميم الرسومات (ملصقات، بطاقات بريدية، إلخ) والفيديو، ومحتوى وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي حيثما أمكن؛ 5. المساعدة في التعامل مع استفسارات الإعلام بما في ذلك طلبات المقابلة؛ 6. المساعدة في ترجمة محتوى الإعلام حيثما كان ذلك مناسباً؛ 7. المساعدة في ضابط الاتصال في أنشطة أخرى مؤقتة حسب التعليمات
المؤهلات/المهارات الخاصة
للتأهل للتدريب يجب استيفاء الشرط التالي: (أ) التسجيل في برنامج دراسات عليا (درجة جامعية ثانية أو ما يعادلها، أو أعلى)؛ (ب) التسجيل في السنة الأكاديمية الأخيرة من برنامج درجة جامعية أولى (على الأقل مستوى البكالوريوس أو ما يعادله)؛ معرفة جيدة بثقافة شمال أفريقيا والسياق الاقتصادي الاجتماعي تعتبر ميزة. التدريبات لا تتطلب خبرة عمل
اللغات
الإنجليزية والفرنسية لغات العمل لدى أمانة الأمم المتحدة. الطلاقة في الفرنسية مطلوبة لبرنامج التدريب. معرفة الإنجليزية والعربية مطلوبة ومفضلة.

Duties and Responsibilities
ECA's mission is to deliver ideas and actions for an empowered and transformed Africa; informed by the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. The mission will be guided by ECA's five new strategic directions which are: advancing ECA's position as a premier knowledge institution that builds on its unique position and privilege to bring global solutions to the continent's problems and take local solution to the continent; developing macroeconomic and structural policy options to accelerate economic diversification and job creation; designing and implementing innovative financing models for infrastructure, and for human, physical and social assets for a transforming Africa; contributing solutions to regional and trans-boundary challenges, with a focus on peace security and social inclusion as an important development nexus; advocating Africa's position at the global level and developing regional responses as a contribution to global governance issues. The ECA Office for North Africa is located in Rabat, Morocco, and serves seven member states: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia. Its main objective is to contribute to achieving structural transformation and balanced development through sound macroeconomic policies, financing for development and debt management; regional integration, economic diversification, industrialization; and climate change resilience. The office is also paying special attention to challenges specific to middle income countries and policies that can help them spur inclusive economic growth, competitiveness and diversification to escape the middle-income trap. Its core functions are: Strengthening the capacity of member states in the sub-region to design and implement national policies and strategies for sustainable employment creation; Contributing to the implementation of sub-regional development priorities in line with the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063 with due consideration for youth and gender perspectives; Improving macroeconomic and fiscal policies, and to ensure sustainable growth; Providing relevant technical assistance to member states and to regional economic communities and intergovernmental organizations in building their capacities to sustain economic, social and political transformation, with a particular focus on employment, skills and balanced development, with the aim of ensuring inclusive growth, taking into consideration access to equal opportunities for women and young people. The internship will be undertaken under the direct supervision of the Communication Officer and the overall guidance of the Director of the Sub-regional Office for North Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa based in Rabat, Morocco and/or the Head of the Communication division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, based in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Communication Officer, the selected intern will undertake the following assignments and support the accomplishment of the related tasks, including generating related write-ups and story lines. 1. Participate in media & com’s related preparations and research for events organized and covered by the ECA sub-regional office for North Africa, 2. Assist in monitoring media reports (local and international) of ECA events and draft coverage reports, 3. Assist with the coverage of ECA events by contributing to note taking for communication purposes, press releases, social media 4. Assist with the design of visuals (posters, postcards etc.) and video, social media content where applicable 5. Assist with the handling of media inquiries including interview requests 6. Assist with the translation of media content where applicable 7. Assist the Communication Officer with other ad-hoc activities as instructed
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for an internship, the following condition must be met: (a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); A good knowledge of the North African culture and socio-economic context and culture is an advantage. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in French is required for the Internship Programme. Knowledge of English and Arabic is desirable.
