Reporting to the INDUSTRIAL DIRECTOR, you will be responsible for all scrap preparation and processing activities (local and imported).
As such, your responsibilities will include:
Define and deploy the overall strategy for preparing and processing scrap (local and imported), ensuring a processing capacity of over 1 million tons/year, while strictly adhering to safety, health, environmental, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Ensure accident-free operations by making the HSE culture and the "Zero Accident" objective an absolute and visible priority at all levels of the department.
Manage all operations for receiving, sorting, preparing, storing, and feeding the steel mill to ensure optimal availability, quality, and consistency of the prepared scrap for the electric furnace (metallic yield, density, energy consumption, and process stability).
Optimize the overall performance of the scrap yard and processing facilities (4000 HP / 70 t/h shredder, 30 t/h shear, cleaners, oxy-cutting unit, mobile and stationary grapple machine fleet, truck fleet) by managing their utilization rate, availability, reliability, and operating costs.
Ensure the maintenance of all facilities and equipment in the department (preventive, corrective, and improvement) to ensure their availability, reliability, and longevity at the lowest cost.
Manage, structure, and develop the preparation, reception, and maintenance teams through its three managers, with a focus on performance, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and cost control.
Ensure close collaboration with the steel mill and other departments interacting with scrap to guarantee continuity of supply, quality of the metallic charge, and optimization of the complex's overall performance.
Required profile :
• With a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Engineering (industrial engineering, mechanical, metallurgy, processes), you have at least 8 years of experience in a similar role within heavy industry (steel mill, foundry, cement plant, etc.).
Good knowledge of the scrap sector: grades, local and import sourcing, market, and logistics;
Mastery of scrap preparation and processing methods (shredding, shearing, cleaning, oxy-cutting) and associated equipment;
Solid knowledge of industrial maintenance (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical) and reliability methods (preventive, condition-based maintenance, MTBF/MTTR, CMMS);Metallurgical knowledge and understanding of electric furnace requirements (metallic yield, charge mix, energy);Mastery of traceability systems, geometric and dimensional control, and waste management;Proficiency in IT tools and management software (Sage X3, ERP, dashboards);Mastery of inventory management, traceability, and industrial flow management;In-depth knowledge of the HSE requirements for heavy industrial facilities and the integrated management system (ISO 9001 / 45001 / 14001);Mastery of the fundamentals of budget management, cost control, and performance steering.
