We are a cohesive team, all working to support each other on a day-to-day basis.
The HR Business Partner (HRBP ) works closely with leadership and supervisors throughout the University, fostering positive interpersonal relations and partnerships, taking on a variety of roles and responsibilities, to deliver value-added services to management and employees to help them align their goals and objectives with those of the university. The HRBP coaches leaders to help determine the best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, and conflict resolution, ensuring alignment and consistency across the university.
After successfully completing the initial probationary period, the HRBP will be offered hybrid flexible work options (must be able to attend meetings and regularly scheduled days on the Biddeford/Portland campus).

Partner with department heads and management personnel, facilitating regular meetings to understand organizational objectives and goals, developing HR strategies to support them. Provide consultation and guidance on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and workforce planning. Collaborating with appropriate HR team members as needed. Act as an advisor, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and practices, assisting in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Collaborate with the HR team to design and implement programs and initiatives that promote employee engagement, retention, and development. Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement. Developing, communicating, and training units on new HR programs, polices and procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. Fosters a welcoming culture of inclusion and diversity. Represent and serve on committees as needed. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 to 6 years human resources experience providing guidance and consultation to management and staff in the areas of employee/labor relations, compensation, employment, training, organizational development, diversity, affirmative action and employee benefits is required.
Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws. Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement when making recommendations that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law. Ability to self-direct and manage multiple priorities and administer a broad range of tasks sometimes with conflicting priorities. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to relay complex information in a manner understandable to a wide variety of individuals. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues. Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and work both independently and in teams. High degree of professionalism and discretion in contacts with management and team members. Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
