POSITION OVERVIEW

THE POSITION



Job Purpose
Part of the hotel’s leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the hotel.
The DoSM overseas all sales and marketing activities with the support of the team and ensures that all activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied by keeping in mind the “spirit of Aman”

RESPONSIBILITIES



Creation and implementation of a Sales & Marketing strategy, action plan and budget for Amanjena for Leisure, Wedding, MICE and Corporate accounts Responsible for all source markets geared towards the success of the hotel Coordination and execution of sales and marketing plans/ initiatives in conjunction with the Global Sales and Marketing teams and regional representations Preparation and execution of annual Sales and Marketing budgets, expenses and revenue Revenue Management and coordination with the Director of Reservations and Revenue to ensure maximum yielding opportunities are achieved and work closely with Reservations team Identify opportunities for weekday business, shoulder seasons, long weekend and other potential opportunities for all seasons as they relate to the various source markets
Represent Amanjena from a sales perspective across all markets, as well as develop and maintain close working relationships with all key decision makers in all key segments. DMC relationships and development of marketing partnerships Responsible for achieving room revenue and occupancy targets through development and execution of a sales strategy – through excellent customer service and protection of the brand integrity at all times. Devote attention to the business development and solicitation of business opportunities with sound analytics, plans and events supported by return on investments calculations. Ensure the team at Amanjena proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits appropriate new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals. Focus is accounts with larger potential sales revenue. Assess b2b and b2c marketing opportunities and trends that complement Aman’s potential target audience and gather market intelligence on clients and competitor information.
Conduct sales calls and submit a weekly report via NextGuest including summary of key appointments and return on investment Represent Amanjena at international trade shows, industry events, sales missions, showcases and consumer shows. Closely work with the Groups and Events Manager to identify suitable groups and buyouts ensuring need periods are filled and peak periods are protected Work closely with Corporate Office teams, responding in a timely manner to projects, submitting reports, and completing administrative tasks when requested Work closely with the Corporate Social Media team to ensure a robust social media strategy for the hotel Assist trade partners and Regional Sales team with organizing site visits and FAM stays at Amanjena, as well as with the global PR team for media visits from key markets. Assist in the hiring, development, retention and supervision of administrative staff to deliver excellent service. Sustains a work environment that focuses on fair and equitable treatment and associate satisfaction to enable business success. Submit creative new ideas to the GM and Corporate Marketing teams regularly (experiences, offers, visiting chef…) Guard the correct use of house style (collaterals, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS



Job requirements
At least 5 years working in luxury hospitality in a sales and marketing capacity Strong verbal and written skills in English and French while other languages are highly appreciated Extensive connections within the luxury travel trade world Ability to forecast accurately, identify shortfall and react accordingly Proactive and flexible attitude in a swiftly changing environment Good communicator; able to communicate on different levels Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Internet. Knowledge of Opera PMS as well as IDeaS revenue management system and CRM (Next Guest) system. Service minded Commitment to exceeding guests’ expectations Well-developed negotiating skills Excellent telephone skills Excellent manners and grooming
