Job description:



The Director of Spa manages and overseas the operations of the Spa department, fitness, tennis & paddle facilities,. He/She provides cutting edge advice and makes key strategic and operational decisions for the Spa department with regards to treatments and philosophies. Creating, developing and implementing of Spa and Wellness treatments and concepts is crucial to this role.
The Spa Director must demonstrate effective retail management and knowledge of local practices. He/ She will be in charge of the development of the spa and salon in accordance with Four Seasons standards.

Skills:



The ideal candidate is a current Director of Spa or a Senior Spa manager with 3-5 years’ experience in the role.
Strategic, proactive and who have a proven track record in both sales and marketing of the Spa.
Applicants need to evidence the understanding of market trends and need to put together sound business plans.
To have a creative flair to create a tasteful spa environment, have good communication in French and English and interpersonal skills and demonstrate effective leadership.
Applicants are required to have at least five years previous employment in a related position. Spa Management or Hospitality Education is preferable.

What you will do:



Ensures the training of the Spa staff to exceed standards. Ability to work with Learning Manager and Designated Trainers to achieve the best possible learning environments for spa staff. The ability to be responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage and cost-effective usage of all department related materials and assets, according to standards to ensure for smooth operation. The ability to issue recommendations regarding the annual operating budget, capital investment budget, operating planning, and further periodic evaluations of financial performance, including reports on sales and operations with supporting statistical data. The ability to maintain operating criteria/spa concepts and be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all Spa related services in relation to consistency with policies, philosophy and objectives for the Spa. The ability to interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline, mentor and give performance evaluations for Spa employees and convey clear instructions and guidance to staff and establish working relationships that attain a high level of effective employee morale. The ability to participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes as well as ways to increase sales and service. The ability to work closely with Engineering Housekeeping, and Laundry, to maintain quality and mechanical operation, cleanliness and special requirements of all Spa equipment and facilities. The ability to keep Director of Leisure & Wellness informed about the department, all employees' performance, and guests concerns and comments and assist with other duties as needed.

What you bring:



Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Spa. Demonstrates superior knowledge and passion of spa, wellness, and holistic modalities. Thorough knowledge of 5-star service standards, effective application of spa staffing models, proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, effective retail management, successful marketing strategies, and demonstrated ability to project costs, revenue and to adhere to the budget that supports monthly / annual financials. A proven record of being able to schedule staff and complete payroll records and reports in accordance with budgeted guidelines. A record of promoting growth through increasing revenue and daily operational efficiency while maintaining healthy spa morale.
