The Operation Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the static planning of vessel operations, cargo control within a container terminal. They play a key role in planning static vessel planning and coordinating cargo handling to ensure efficient and effective terminal operations. The Operation Planner works closely with various departments within the terminal, including operations, engineering, and customer service, to ensure smooth execution of plans and adherence to operational standards.

Role Overview:


The Operation Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the static planning of vessel operations, cargo control within a container terminal. They play a key role in planning static vessel planning, and coordinating cargo handling to ensure efficient and effective terminal operations. The Operation Planner works closely with various departments within the terminal, including operations, engineering, and customer service, to ensure smooth execution of plans and adherence to operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Cargo Control: Coordinate the handling and control of cargo within the terminal, ensuring accurate documentation, inspection, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor cargo movement and inventory levels to prevent congestion and ensure efficient cargo flow.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, including operations teams, engineering departments, and customer service representatives, to coordinate activities and address operational issues in a timely manner. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as shipping lines, port authorities, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate smooth cargo operations and resolve operational challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within terminal operations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Master's degree in Engineering, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in terminal operations, logistics, or maritime industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Flexibility to work on shift hours and weekends, as required, to support operational needs.
