Job Description
- Developing and executing strategic plans to expand our ocean freight business.
- Identifying and engaging with potential clients to understand their shipping needs and requirements.
- Review station overall sea freight performance and achieve sea freight actual target and budget.
- Create customized solutions to gain new customers.
- Keeping abreast of market trends, competitors, and regulatory changes.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
- Strategically grow a network of ocean carriers.
- Negotiating contracts and agreements to secure new business opportunities.
- Onboarding new agents to our network and secure a competitive rates from the agents.
- Review agents accounts agreements & Resolve all agent agreements disputes in coordination with accounting/freight partners.
- Lead negotiation of rates and contracts with ocean carriers.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
- Provide constant support and guidance station to maintain and grow business.
- Provide guidance to station operations to strengthen sea freight operations
- Conduct Joint visit with sales team to generate new business.
- Respond to stations inquires coming from operations, sales or partners.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance ocean import/export operational procedures.
- Map company process flows and continuously review to identify efficiency gains.
- Establish and manage relationships with origin counterparts and destination partners.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of best in class ocean import/export talent.
Job Responsibilities - Experience and Education
- Proven experience + 5 years in business development within the ocean freight industry.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight operations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or a related field.
