Senior Project Manager

Purpose:


Provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approval. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Project managers will exhibit leadership skills necessary to achieve project goals.


Major EPC/EPCM Project in different sectors seeking several Project Managers:


  • Mining (Surface & Underground)
  • Fertilization plants
  • Phosphate
  • Ports
  • Oil & Gas or Refinery
  • Water desalination


Responsibilities:


Health & Safety:


  • Prepares and implements a health and safety plan for the project and ensures a culture of safety.
  • Demonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership by example.


Team Leadership:


  • Leads a cross-functional project teams that may be comprised of multi-discipline, multi-location team members.
  • Manages the processes for procuring internal staff for the project and for demobilizing staff at project closeout.


Technical Expertise:


  • Applies knowledge of all aspects of a project (engineering, procurement, quality control, etc.) to oversee the successful execution of the project plan.
  • Establishes processes and protocols for the documentation and cost control of the project.


Financial/Contract Management:


  • Strong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards
  • Applies in-depth knowledge and understanding of client contract to the oversight and management of the project.
  • Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used with the project team and with the client.


Planning & Execution:

  • Manages the application of appropriate coordination, and implements regular reviews and controls to monitor project progress.
  • Interprets and understands all of the key elements of the project schedule (such as critical path, actual versus planned activities, etc.) to identify adverse trends and take correction action when required.
  • Applies forward planning with schedule to resource the project appropriately.
  • Implements a clear review of lessons learned and how to implement potential changes into project delivery.


Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Prepares and implements a communication plan based on the SOW.
  • Understands client delivery models and effectively identifies and manages different stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
  • Applies excellent conflict resolution and political savvy to manage major conflict situations with a variety of individuals.
  • Has significant decision-making authority about issues resolution, project resources, scope implications, and budget.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree Engineering and Project Management
  • Professional register Project Manager
  • 5+ years of experience in major EPC/EPCM projects as project management Oil & Gas / Fertilizer plant / Mining (Underground/Surface /Ports/ Refinery / Phosphate / Water desalination
  • Must have international experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project scope and change management
  • Strong communication skills and leadership within multi-disciplinary environment
  • English with additional French or Arabic speaking/writing will be beneficial
