Your Role
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will establish, assist and support the supply chain management process developing reliable external direct suppliers, by assessing supplier capabilities and providing performance improvement methods.
The activities of the Supplier Quality Engineer are as follows:
- Monitor supplier performance, develop, and publish data reports; judge 8D reports and Problem-Solving Tools analysis.
- Support and push underperforming suppliers in their improvement activities.
- Manage supplier changes processing (SSCR).
- Support Cost Recovery activities between Suppliers and Aptiv.
- Support cross-functional teams (APQP/PDP) and function as a liaison to additional supplier development / supplier quality resources.
- Lead Regional SPDP Planning & Analysis and Administration Activities.
- Perform audits at suppliers concerning Manufacturing & Problem-solving capabilities, independent planning, execution and rating of system and process audits at suppliers on request.
- Monitor/accelerate supplier implementation of improvement plans through follow up measures.
- Sampling Approval (PPAP, PPF): initialize, observe, judge, and approve products and processes at suppliers according to requirements.
Your Background
➢ Required
- Engineering diploma or equivalent
- Experience of min 2-5 years in the Quality department at Aptiv.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, quality & engineering processes and Problem Solving tools.
- Fluent English required (verbal and written communication skills).
- Flexibility and travel readiness.
- Creativity, Initiative & Independent judgement.
➢ Preferred
- Experience in Auditing of suppliers according to VDA & IATF Standards.
- Knowledge of Customer Specific requirements (including German OEMs) and Automotive Standard.
- Interpersonal skills to lead motivate and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques.
