Position Information Position Type Professional Staff Faculty Track Position Title Project Coordinator, CHCC Employment Status Full Time Months 12 Campus Remote Description The Project Coordinator will design, implement and monitor health promotion campaigns and deliver substance use prevention direct education and youth engagement activities with community partners. The Project Coordinator participates in key program and operations planning, including reporting and evaluation. The position requires working independently and monitoring the progress of multiple work projects simultaneously.

Supports the development and achievement of program goals for CHCC’s youth substance use prevention and childhood lead poisoning prevention programming. Designs and implements health promotion marketing campaigns using multiple media platforms. Manages CHCC’s social media platforms and ensures coalition web-sites are continuously updated. Collaborates with partners to strengthen coalition efforts to reduce youth alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug misuse. Collaborates with partners to deliver community-based education and outreach aimed at reducing childhood lead poisoning. Implements Prime for Life Universal curriculum and PhotoVoice projects, including establishing and maintaining relationships with local schools and community sites. Works in collaboration with CHCC staff in seeking funding for related activities. Completes donor-required evaluation and reporting. Stays up to date on current research related to the reduction and prevention of substance use and prevention of childhood lead poisoning in order to inform communications strategies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or 4-5 years of equivalent and relevant administrative experience in office practices, budget/accounting and customer service, or a combination of education and experiences from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Proven success in: community collaboration, health promotion or community education, and project administration and coordination. Experience developing and implementing health promotion campaigns. Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders to include youth and outside agencies in a professional manner. Ability to work independently and provide attention to detail. Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills and establish positive rapport at all levels. Ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision. Provisional or Certified Prevention Specialist credential, State of Maine, or willingness to obtain. Prime for Life Universal Training Certification, or willingness to obtain. Strong background in social media and computer applications including Microsoft Office and Constant Contact.
