Title and Summary


Director, Country Business Development - Democratic Republic of the Congo (based in Kinsasha)Overview
• MasterCard Africa Division has a need to appoint a Country Business Development Director for Democratic Republic of Congo to be based in Kinsasha as a Contractor.
• Responsible for defining a future focused strategy for DRC.
• Creates an inspiring vision and innovative business strategy to accelerate market growth and profitable market share
• Establishes partnerships with customers, regulators, government and stakeholders and is seen as a Thought Leader and Industry Expert in the market
Responsibilities
• Develops the sales pipeline, coordinating with product development and account management teams
• Be the responsible “face of MasterCard” to the prospect/customer through high level interactions with key stakeholders such as senior bank executives, country regulatory contacts, representatives of marketing and card vendors as well as third party processing companies.
• Participate in high-level, interactive conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging product opportunities
• Analyze customers’ existing business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis and recommend opportunities for additional revenue
• Develop long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across debit and credit business lines
• Work with virtual team of MC subject matter experts to strategically articulate value propositions to close new business opportunities
• Develop financial modeling and business cases for identified opportunities
• Owns the P&L and country goals, driving revenue growth, market share and diversification of Mastercard’s products and solutions
• Monitors regulatory framework that may influence country operations and ensures compliance is maintained
• Establishes a reputation as an industry expert on payments technology ecosystem and is an ambassador for Mastercard
• Execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing
Experiences
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
• Deep business development and marketing experience
• Strong project management, problem solving, analytical and organizational experience
• Experience in merchant acquiring, retailing and / or corporate transactional banking will be advantageous
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders in a multicultural environment across multiple geographic locations
• Excellent writing and presentation skills, extensive experience in communicating in international environment at senior management level
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task
• Experience in a market management role with accountability for sales, product, marketing, finance delivery and/or operations
• Demonstrated success in market and/or managing P&L for a market.
• Experience in customer facing roles and interacting with key decision makers
• Experience in leading/leveraging cross-functional and/or project teams to deliver strong results.
• Experience building relationships with customers and other stakeholders (i.e., governments, regulators, etc.
