Location: Rabat, Morocco (+Occasional travel to Marrakech)

PIKALA is a dynamic organization committed to using the bicycle as a means for urban and societal change in Morocco. As a circular business, we generate our own profits through bicycle tours to fund our social activities. Our initiatives include bicycle classes for girls, teaching young children about road safety, and employing Moroccan youth. We aim to empower communities to use the bicycle for professional growth and meaningful urban participation. Pikala opened its second atelier in Agadir in 2023. In the upcoming months, PIKALA is extending to Rabat to launch its commercial and social activities.
Role overview:
Pikala is looking for a dynamic, resourceful Social Project Manager to launch and lead our impactful social projects in Rabat. As the primary point of contact for all Pikala activities in the city, you’ll play a key role in coordinating, planning, and executing a range of community-focused initiatives that foster social engagement and sustainability. Working closely with our central team in Marrakech, you’ll help bring Pikala’s vision to life by creating meaningful experiences for the Rabat community.
Key responsibilities:
Project launch and oversight:
Spearhead the opening process of Pikala Rabat, overseeing every stage from planning to execution, including the transformation of a garage space into the new Pikala Rabat Atelier. This requires adaptability and a hands-on approach, as you’ll alternate between on-site and hybrid work.
Team Management:
- Supervise and coordinate freelance animators and volunteers, ensuring their activities align with organizational goals and standards in coordination with Pikala Executive Director based in Marrakech
- Act as a bridge between the Rabat team and the central team in Marrakech, ensuring good communication and alignment with the common calendar and objectives.
Development of partnerships and collaborations :
- With the support of our Head of partnerships work closely with local stakeholders, including governmental and official entities, community groups, and organizations to identify and cultivate partnership opportunities that enhance our social initiatives.
Project Management:
- Social Calendar Development: Maintain a comprehensive social calendar featuring a diverse range of events and activities following Pikala’s GENERATION LAB goals.
- Budget management : Plan and track expenses of activities in Rabat in collaboration with our Head of Finance.
- Impact Evaluation: Conduct post-event analyses and gather feedback to evaluate the success of events, providing recommendations for future improvements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in social project management within an association or social enterprise (2 to 3 years experience - internship experience counts)
- Strong understanding of the local ecosystem and network in Rabat (sustainable development - tourism and youth participation )
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of employees and volunteers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be working with a team in different cities of Morocco.
- Fluency in Arabic, French and English.
