Purpose of Role:Design Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of detailed engineering drawings from various sources, including Weir departments and external manufacturers, by cross-verifying against project specifications and P&ID and flowsheet diagrams. This role ensures that all drawings meet contract requirements and adhere to company standards and Intellectual Property policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Detail Verification: Ensure the accuracy of equipment, valve, instrument, and electrical taggings by cross-checking against P&ID and flowsheet diagrams, as well as verifying tagging on manufacturer-provided mechanical, civil, and electrical drawings.
- Technical Support: Provide technical expertise in the detailed drawing phases, including design, manufacturing, and operational considerations, ensuring drawings meet contract requirements and customer specifications.
- Drawing Development: Support the creation of basic GA and P&ID diagrams, aligning with flow sheet solutions and specific customer needs.
- Accuracy & Timeliness: Execute all examinations and verifications within required timescales with high accuracy, maintaining adherence to IP policies.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, with 3+ years of plant design experience (GA, P&ID, Layouts) in mineral processing, refineries, water treatment, or similar.
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD system (e.g., Autodesk, Solidworks, NX), with point cloud experience preferred.
- High level of personal integrity to protect Intellectual Property, and strong technical reporting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work well in teams and adapt to cultural differences in business.
