Position Overview: MARI-SPACE seeks a dynamic and motivated Assistant Professor of Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in cutting-edge research, provide high-quality instruction, and contribute to the department's growth in these and related fields.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and related subjects. Supervise and mentor graduate students and research assistants.

Research: Conduct innovative research in aerodynamic principles, airflows, turbulence, boundary layers, aircraft performance characteristics, and flight dynamics. Develop and enhance computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models, wind tunnel testing techniques, and aerodynamic analysis and optimization simulation tools. Investigate aircraft stability, control systems, and design considerations to advance the aerodynamics and flight mechanics field.

Service: Participate in departmental and university committees. Contribute to the development of new research initiatives and collaborations. Engage with the professional community through conferences, workshops, and publications.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, CFD, and wind tunnel testing techniques. Proven ability to conduct high-quality research, as evidenced by a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Experience in developing and implementing simulation tools and research methodologies for aerodynamic analysis and optimization. Ability to teach and mentor students effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and students.

Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral research experience in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, or a related area. Experience with interdisciplinary research and collaborations. Ability to secure external funding for research projects.
