POSITION TITLE: Accord Access Enablers Lead
REPORTS TO: VP, Emerging Markets Access & Accord Lead
ROLE SUMMARY
Accord for a Healthier World aims to close the health equity gap and help provide greater access to healthcare innovation for 1.2 billion people living in 45 lower-income countries around the world.
The Accord Access Enablers Lead will spearhead initiatives to strengthen health systems by collaborating with health authorities in these countries, facilitating patient access to Pfizer's medicines and vaccines. The lead will identify key hurdles in healthcare systems and work with the cross-functional team to develop and implement Access Enablers strategies. This includes establishing relevant metrics and KPIs to monitor progress and provide insightful analytics.
Additionally, this role involves managing external partnerships and collaborations that support health equity and strengthen healthcare systems.
Access Enablers will focus on interventions & solutions to support more efficient regulatory pathways, build country supply chain capabilities and advance health workforce learning & development activities.
The Access Enablers Lead will be working directly with the VP Emerging Markets Access & Accord Lead, and with leaders across the Accord team and beyond within the Pfizer organization.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute Accord Access Enablers strategic framework in collaboration with relevant Pfizer divisions to inform country-specific health system strengthening plans and roadmaps that align public health priorities.
- Identify key bottlenecks in healthcare system and patient access pathways, leveraging country insights and market dynamics
- Work with country access teams to prioritize healthcare system strengthening solutions deployments in alignment with country specific unmet needs
- Engage with relevant country stakeholders to foster collaborations and solution cocreation et enable HC system enhancement and patient access
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the division and enterprise (including PGS, Marketing, Strategy and Access, Medical, Legal & compliance, Regulatory, Global Health & Social Impact, Global Policy and Public Affairs) to inform and advance partnership and implementation plans
- Manage assigned key business relationships on behalf of the Access and Accord group, evaluating traditional and non-traditional partnerships and identifying new potential opportunities.
- Develop and manage operational system to ensure team members and SMEs across the enterprise are up to date on Access Enablers strategies and implementation plans.
- Identify and action on opportunities for external partnerships to build on and complement existing programs implemented.
- Manage Access Enablers metrics and KPIs to inform the broader Accord scorecard, strategy effectiveness and maximize opportunities to showcase program success.
- Identify and leverage opportunities to scale successful interventions in other Accord countries and appropriate sustainability mechanisms.
- Ensure high standards of Compliance to norms, policies, and procedures of Pfizer while developing and executing the Access Enablers plans. Proactively ensuring integrity and compliance are integrated, to operate and win in the right way.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree, Master’s degree or MBA
- 15+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or global health with 5+ years of experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing, and executing successful strategies
- Track record of leadership experiences driven by a strong sense of decisiveness, inspiring a culture of execution excellence, demonstrated disruptive and thought-provoking mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted collaboration relationships with external stakeholders – senior government officials
- Experience in representing the company externally, and coalition building with a wide variety of international external stakeholders
- Demonstrated entrepreneurship mindset, accountability, agility, overcoming obstacles and focus on action and implementation.
- Demonstrated record of sound judgment and intelligent decision-making. Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance a proactive compliance culture across an organization.
- Deep understanding of the global health landscape and trends.
- Experience working on successful programs and initiatives with LMICs or countries with similar environments
- Experience with large, complex organizations with people of diverse functional and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated understanding of the business and the ability to translate the business needs into strategic plans that advance the team and Company goals
- Ability to manage programs and projects from conception to completion and manage interdependences within department and across other key stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing global health equity
