Description Of The Position

Postdoctoral Fellow hiring in the framework of a project focused on the valorization of microalgae for

Biotechnological Applications. Successful Candidate Is Expected To Have

  • Experience in isolation, culture techniques of microalgae and cyanobacteria strains, growth optimization of the strains of interest according to the targeted application.
  • Expertise on the green extraction, chemical characterization of natural active molecules and biomacromolecules from algae (macro/microalgae).
  • Knowledge and familiarity of analytical techniques necessary for structural using GC/LC-MS analysis.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques: PCR, RT-PCR and Biochemistry methods such as colorimetric and enzymatic activity would be suitable.

Education

  • A Ph.D. in algal Biotechnology/bioprocess engineering/Bioprocessing from a recognized University, or related field.

Requirement

The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

  • Strong experience in research in the field of bioactive metabolites from algae.
  • High publication and research record in leading international and well-ranked journals in the field.
  • To be engaged in all aspects of planning and carrying out research, including designing experiments, collecting, and analyzing data.
  • Elaboration/optimization of protocols and in vitro testing of bioactive compounds.
  • Writing of scientific articles and reports and contribution in the preparation of research proposals.
  • Contribution in supervising and technical training of undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Publishing research findings, and participation to national and international scientific events.
  • Strong English and French communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
