Communication & Government Affairs Lead

Morocco

As Communications and Government Affairs Lead, you will be responsible for employee engagement around strategic priorities and culture under pinned by GSK Culture. You will develop GSK’s external engagement agenda and integrate external engagement approach to products; build and maintain continuity of relationships with key stakeholders and support policy advocacy/stakeholder engagement for commercial/market access initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


External Facing (60%)


Government Affairs:


  • Leads Government Affairs to deliver business-first strategies, reactive positions and data-driven policy advocacy activities to shape government’s health policy agenda and GSK therapeutic areas.
  • Develops long-term strategies aiming to maintain a positive, conducive and opportunistic policy environment to help deliver successful business outcomes and timely access to innovation by patients.
  • Builds, maintains and strengthens broad range of stakeholder networks including policy makers, decision makers, embassies and trade associations based on trust, credibility and partnership. Represents GSK in trade associations and relevant industry platforms.
  • Leads implementation of corporate advocacy, therapeutic area and product plans with high level bureaucrats, senior policy makers and key influencers.
  • Continuously tracks and interprets economic, political, societal and market trends and feeds this into the evolving commercial strategy (e.g. developments in regulatory, pricing and access policies and processes).
     

Communications and Patient Advocacy:


  • Acts as a custodian of GSK's brand and reputation; develops external engagement agenda and plans to strengthen GSK image through a sustainable campaigns in internal & external communications and partnership programs.
  • Ensures GSK’s purpose, strategy, priorities, expectations and values are well-communicated and embedded internally.
  • Understands media landscape and the importance of newspaper, broadcast and digital reporting to GSK’s reputation and business. Contributes to the development and execution of external & brand communications plans that supports near-term business objectives and builds trust in the longer-term.
  • Leads patient advocacy for the development and management of the local relationships and activities with patient advocacy groups and liaising with regional & global teams to align on strategies.
     

Internal Facing (40%)


  • Effective member of GSK Morocco Leadership Team, contributing to strategic direction and success of the business in Morocco as well as broader enterprise-wide issues and opportunities.
  • Ensures regional and global alignment on strategies for CGA
  • Ensures building business-first and best-in-class CGA strategies and action plans
  • Active member of regional CGA Leadership Teams and global taskforces, frequently consulting and sharing best practices with regional and global teams.
Why you?Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:


  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, international relations or life sciences.
  • Post-graduate degree in the area of health economics or health policy is highly preferred.
  • Strategic leader with +10 years of extensive experience in senior market access and government affairs leadership positions in pharmaceutical industry, with unique blend of capabilities in health policy, market access, health economics, pricing, communications, patient advocacy.
  • Pharmaceutical background is a must.
  • Excellent command of English and effective communication & influential skills.
  • Well-developed external networks and an applied understanding of the Morocco’s government affairs and access landscape.
  • Strong business acumen and experience working in a complex, matrix environment.
  • Excellent networking and business partnering skills with proven ability to influence across boundaries and across a broad range of cross functional and external stakeholders.
  • Ambitious, focused and collaborative/teamwork approach. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, effectively liaise with and influence senior leaders at local, regional, & global levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to get results through people in teams and across a matrix.
  • Strategic thinker, strong problem solving, synthesis and advanced analytical skills.
  • Positive and constructive attitude in interpersonal relations, knowing how to be compromising and modest where necessary, while at the same time having self-confidence and decisiveness skills to take initiatives and being proactive.
  • Reliable, accountable and committed to produce top quality of work with high degree of work discipline, ethical standards and sense of urgency.
  • Behavioral flexibility, cultural understanding and experience of working internationally across multiple and varied cultures.
