Job Description
The Institute of Geology and Sustainable Mining (GSMI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a one-year fixed-term research engineer position in the field of applied geophysics and geological modeling. The position is open to candidates holding an engineering, master's, or doctorate degree (obtained within the last 2 years) with a specialization in applied geophysics for geological exploration and geological modeling, and with research experience proven by professional experience and/or publications.
You will use the following skills and qualities:

- Study of orientation for choosing geophysical methods based on the geological context and the issues addressed.
- Mastery of classical geophysical methods (electrical, electromagnetic, gravimetry, magnetism), knowledge of other techniques (MASW, GPR) would be an asset.
- Good knowledge of geophysical data processing
- Knowledge in geological modeling would be an asset.
- Mastery of geophysical and geological modeling software
- Development of geophysical data processing methods
- In charge of existing geophysical equipment and monitoring of future purchases
- Interest in experimentation
- Good writing skills in French and English
- Sense of teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting
- Initiative and autonomy.
- A driver's license would be an asset.
- Responsible for the initial daily QA/QC of data acquired in the field.
- Send daily acquired field data to the supervisor for deeper QA/QC.
