Main Mission
The mapping geologist is responsible for carrying out the geological and structural mapping work necessary to understand the lithological and structural controls of mineralization, and to guide regional exploration efforts.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Conduct detailed geological and structural mapping (lithology, alteration, structures, veins, faults).
- Identify, describe, and interpret surface mineralization occurrences.
- Perform rock and soil sampling (selective and systematic).
- Describe outcrops, trenches, and old mine workings.
- Map and integrate field data into a GIS (QGIS).
- Produce geological, structural, and thematic maps.
- Contribute to geological interpretation and the definition of exploration targets.
- Write clear and structured field reports.
- Ensure geological logging and monitoring of all activities related to core drilling and RC drill chips.
- Strictly apply the HSE procedures in force on the site.
Required profile :
Profile Sought
- Degree: Bachelor's, Master's, or Engineer in Geology.
- Desired specialization: mining geology, structural geology, or mineral exploration.
Experience:
1. Junior: 1 to 3 years of field experience
2. Experienced: ≥ 3 years in geological mapping (mining domain preferred)
- Good command of geological and structural mapping.
- Knowledge of deposit geology.
- Proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS highly preferred).
- Ability to work in isolated environments and under field conditions.
Conditions
- Position based at the Zgounder mine site (predominantly field work).
- Possibility of travel between sites according to project needs.
