Universite Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) is recruiting an engineer for its Volatilomics platform within the Analytical Chemistry CoreLab.
The CoreLab's mission is to support scientific and technical research within UM6P and to offer analytical services to external clients.
The recruited engineer will participate in the planning, management, and coordination of the volatilomics platform operations, ensuring the satisfaction of internal researchers and external clients.
This platform will be equipped with latest generation analytical instruments such as GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-HRMS, among others.
We are looking for candidates with in-depth experience in the design and execution of experiments with gas chromatography (GC) instruments, who master:

complex sample preparation techniques,

the selection and development of analytical methods,
-
instrument maintenance and troubleshooting,
-
as well as associated software interfaces.
Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
Main Missions:-
Reception, processing, and classification of analysis requests.

Management of samples to be analyzed: storage, packaging, preparation, etc.

Independent execution of experimental work using the volatilomics platform instruments; preparation of necessary reagents, solutions, and standards.

Development, validation, and documentation of analytical methods and operating procedures according to sample or test requirements; maintenance of quality control records to ensure efficient laboratory process management.

Supervision and execution of periodic performance qualifications of the platform instruments and guarantee of experimental traceability.

Execution of preventive maintenance tasks to avoid breakdowns and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Execution of functional tests, calibrations, and adjustments to ensure instrument accuracy.

Writing of complete analysis reports, organization, and archiving of data.

Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, safety, and occupational health rules.

Work effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Active participation in department activities.

Contribution to the management of platform consumables (supply and stock monitoring).

Participation in the platform's certification process (ISO 17025).
Required profile :
Profile sought:-
Engineer or Master's degree in chemistry or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience.

Significant experience in GC and GC-MS/MS method development strongly appreciated.

Proficiency in heavy equipment for analytical chemical characterization.

Excellent skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
