Reporting to the Head of Reproduction and Breeding, your main mission will be to contribute to the execution of the roadmap concerning genetic improvement and performance by supervising all processes related to equine health and reproduction.
To this end, your main activities will be:
Implementation of Equine Reproduction Objectives on Technical and Administrative Levels and Company Horse Health
- Ensure compliance with reproduction procedures to guarantee the quality and conformity of practices
- Provide close gynecological monitoring of mares at the stud farm's reproduction center, ensuring their well-being and health
- Guarantee the smooth running of the breeding season at the stud farm and in the reproduction centers in your region
- Actively participate in the organization of resource allocation, whether qualified personnel or stallions, within the reproduction centers affiliated with the stud farm
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentary databases of information systems, ensuring efficient information management
- Maintain vigilant monitoring of the supply and quality of stocks related to reproduction, ensuring that necessary resources are available to support ongoing operations
Monitoring Horse Health and Well-being
- Establish and follow a health prophylaxis schedule to ensure the preventive health of horses
- Develop and monitor the feeding program, including distribution, to maintain adequate and balanced nutrition
- Establish and monitor a farriery program to maintain the health of horses' hooves and feet
- Provide curative treatments as needed to ensure the recovery of sick or injured horses
- Supervise and monitor the interventions of contracted veterinarians to ensure appropriate medical care
- Ensure monitoring of supply and quality of stocks related to stable and horse management to maintain necessary resources
- Establish and monitor a horse training program to ensure their physical condition, training, and well-being
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
- Monitor reproduction indicators, collecting data and analyzing the performance of reproduction processes
- Generate periodic reports on reproduction, providing quantitative information and trend analyses
Team Management
- Supervise, lead, develop, and drive the performance of the team
Required profile :
As a potential candidate, you:
- Have a degree in veterinary medicine with proven experience of 5 to 10 years minimum, ideally in the equine world;
- Manage equine reproduction
- Have knowledge of reproduction and insemination procedures
- Manage horse feeding and stables for breeding stallions
- Manage teams and drive performance
- Are results-oriented
- Are rigorous and have organizational skills
