Job :


The Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services necessary for the company's operations. This role involves identifying potential suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, placing orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while optimizing costs and quality. The Buyer collaborates closely with internal departments to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities support the production schedule and company objectives.





Main responsibilities:





• Supplier Management:




Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in procurement and supplier performance.





• Purchasing Process:




Manage the entire procurement cycle, including drafting requests for quotations (RFQs), analyzing bids, negotiating prices, and placing orders, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.





• Negotiation:




Conduct negotiations with suppliers on prices, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to obtain favorable terms and reduce risks.





• Order Management:




Place and track orders for materials, equipment, and services needed by the company, ensuring products are delivered on time and meet quality specifications.





• Inventory Control:




Collaborate closely with the inventory team to monitor stock levels, anticipate shortages, and maintain optimal stock levels. Participate in the implementation of cost reduction measures while meeting production needs.





• Cost Analysis:




Regularly review and analyze the cost structure of purchased items, identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize spending without compromising quality.





• Supplier Performance:




Monitor supplier performance to ensure all deliveries meet agreed-upon terms. Resolve quality or delivery issues, implement corrective actions, and strive for continuous improvement.





• Contract Management:




Draft and manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring legal and operational compliance while protecting the company's interests.





• Market Research:




Conduct regular market watch to identify potential new suppliers and stay informed about market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks.

 






Required profile :


Required Qualifications:





• Engineering/Master's degree in purchasing/supply chain, business, or a related field.

• 4 years of experience in a buyer role.

• A certification in purchasing or supply chain management is an asset.

• Proficiency in French and English.





Required Skills and Qualifications:





• Strong contract negotiation and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Attention to detail and analytical mindset.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Good knowledge of purchasing best practices and strategies.

• Understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office suite.
