Anesthesia Technician / Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to join our team. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical support in the operating room, including anesthesia equipment setup and maintenance, assistance with patient preparation, and assistance with anesthesia administration. The Anesthesia Technician works closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical personnel to ensure the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services.


  • Set up, operate, and maintain anesthesia equipment according to hospital standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and check anesthesia equipment prior to use.
  • Assist in the preparation of patient for surgery, including monitoring vital signs and preparing the operating room.
  • Assist with the administration of anesthesia according to the instructions of the anesthesiologist.
  • Monitor patient during and after surgery for adverse reactions to anesthesia.
  • Assist with the maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including cleaning and sterilization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia activities and patient records.


Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Airway Management: Proficiency in managing patients’ airways during anesthesia procedures.


  • Monitoring Patients: Ability to monitor patients’ vital signs and physical appearance throughout anesthesia.


  • Calibrating and Troubleshooting Equipment: Knowledge of anesthesia equipment calibration and troubleshooting.


  • Infection Control Procedures: Familiarity with infection control protocols and proper disinfection of equipment.


Soft Skills:

  • Compassion: Anesthesia technicians must be compassionate and empathetic, especially when dealing with patients who may be anxious or in pain.


  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Anesthesia procedures can be high-stress situations. Technicians need to remain calm and focused.


  • Teamwork: Effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical staff.


  • Communication: Clear communication is essential for coordinating patient care and ensuring everyone is on the same page.
