Position Overview: MARI-SPACE seeks a dynamic and innovative Assistant Professor specializing in Propulsion and Energy Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service activities related to aerospace propulsion technologies and energy systems. This role offers an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and collaborate with leading experts in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching: Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in propulsion systems, energy systems, and related topics. Mentor and advise students, including supervising research projects and theses.

Research: Conduct original research in propulsion systems, including jet engines, turbofans, turbojets, hybrid propulsion, and alternative energy sources. Pursue external funding and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Service: Participate in departmental and university service activities, including committee work and outreach programs. Engage in professional organizations and contribute to the academic community. Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, and other educational institutions on research projects and initiatives—foster relationships with stakeholders to enhance research impact and opportunities.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in propulsion systems, including jet engines, turbofans, turbojets, and hybrid propulsion systems. Research experience in alternative energy sources, sustainable aviation fuels, electric propulsion systems, and thermal management techniques. Strong record of or potential for scholarly publications and securing research funding. Excellent teaching skills and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with advanced simulation tools and computational methods related to propulsion systems. Background in interdisciplinary research involving propulsion and energy systems. Proven ability to engage in innovative research and contribute to industry collaborations.
