Position Summary:
The Field Service and Applications Specialist provides in-field technical support to grow the diagnostic product user base. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cepheid instruments, technical presentations, and customer training. The role involves collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, and global business units to meet customer needs and exceed expectations. Must be based in SENEGAL
Job Purpose:
- Technical:
- On-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems.
- Integrate instruments into customer labs and support evaluation and validation.
- Document installations, customer support, and follow-ups in SFDC.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Manage spare parts stock and inventory.
- Report key performance indicators related to service.
- Perform training to third party companies in West & Central Africa.
- Support surrounding countries services when needed.
- Commercial:
- Develop account strategies with Sales Representatives to boost Cepheid business.
- Generate demand for testing, identify new assays, and support rapid adoption.
- Assist sales teams in Senegal and surrounding countries.
Training Responsibilities:
Complete all assigned training satisfactorily and on time. Ensure associates attend and complete required training.
Experience, Qualifications, Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, including 3 years in the medical diagnostics market.
- Experience in Molecular Biology and lab automation systems.
- Knowledge of Senegal areas desirable.
- Technical support and training experience in clinical diagnostics.
- Experience working in Africa is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be based in SENEGAL

Other Requirements:
- 80% on-site work with customers.
- Valid motor vehicle license.
- Travel primarily within surrounding countries in Western and Central Africa, with some global travel.
- Potential for after-hours and weekend work.
