Job Description

Lead assigned product lines: building Portfolio in selected Strategic Market Segment (SMS)

  • Lead the product lines to maximise market penetration with effective NPI & LEX process whilst managing the PLCM to maintain a coherent overall positioning
  • Develop portfolio content to ensure proper communication internally (e.g. Sales & Field Force) and externally (e.g. Growers, Channel Partners) and ensure proper implementation along with Campaign Leads and Communication & Digital Lead
  • Provide product intelligence knowledge and provide insights regarding our SMS whilst being a force of proposition in generating new ideas to address our portfolio gaps
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform portfolio strategy
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, aligning with overall business strategy and market demands
  • KPIs: NPI & LEX volume delivered according to Business Cases; satisfaction of Sales & Field Force in the quality of launches; relevance of portfolio content and ability to connect to growers

Ensuring sound technical positioning & effective value pricing

  • Develop brand strategies whilst managing our assets along the Product Life Cycle management (PLCM) and Label Management in terms of crop usages and target segments
  • Contribute to Portfolio development as solution builder to address our identified SMS with a clear offer in Premium, Mid-Tier & Biologicals offers in the respective product indications; develop a clear product segmentation
  • Own and frame the content of Product Marketing to ensure awareness of internal organisation (e.g. Sales Team, Marketing Organisation) and external clients regarding product features (e.g. Distributors, Sales Representatives)
  • Set Net Price based on value pricing methodology and communicate effectively internally and externally whenever applicable
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise product lifecycle management, including planning for product upgrades, replacements, and end-of-life scenarios
  • KPIs: effective Net Price setting; coherent brand ladder; clear technical positioning along the PLCM

Contributing in shaping the Portfolio Strategy

  • Apply long-term view and provide key insights to develop the BA NWA strategy when it comes to Portfolio whilst considering market trends and growers needs
  • Manage & facilitate the entire Asset Meeting process to ensure coordination with key stakeholders and act as BA spokesperson to BU for respective product indications
  • Own the yearly Asset Meeting from preparation to implementation (deadlines, deliverables, resources & timeline) for the related product indications
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast product performance, including revenue projections, cost analysis, and ROI calculations
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop annual budgets and long-term financial plans for the product portfolio
  • KPIs: short-term portfolio plan addressing market opportunities; long-term portfolio plan incl. gap fillers; enhanced product overview in I-Plan

Effectively work across boundaries

  • Ensure alignment with Marketing Intelligence (MI) and collaboration to enhance data and drive decisions based on analysis
  • Work closely with Campaign Management (CM) to ensure alignment on the communication and promotion of our NPIs & LEX as well as existing products
  • Work with Crop Protection Development (CPD) organisation whilst developing the portfolio strategy and execution across the BA
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including R&D, operations, sales, and customer service teams
  • Represent the portfolio team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives, advocating for product needs and communicating portfolio strategy
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure consistent product positioning and messaging across different markets

Qualifications

Critical knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy or business administration (+MBA)
  • Marketing (concepts, marketing mix principles, etc.) / Segmentation (concept and application)
  • Business strategy development / Financial analysis / Business planning / Product knowledge
  • Leadership skills: communicate with impact, lead change and hold ambiguity, manage for performance, collaborate across boundaries, build a culture of innovation
  • Understanding of competitive environment, product management and line management experience / Knowledge of influencers and channel management

Critical Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years marketing / sales / Technical management experience
  • Marketing, Portfolio or Sales experience in agrichemical business industry

Critical Technical, Professional And Personal Capabilities

  • Proficient Knowledge of Product Management (e.g. NPI process, Range Management, Value Pricing, Label Management, PLCM, etc.)
  • Understanding of crop agronomy (e.g. crop cycle, weed resistance management, seed treatment techniques, application technologies)
  • Exposure to Internal Systems such as AnaPlan (I-Plan), Salesforce.com, Trinity
  • Analytical thinking
  • Influential and communication skills & stakeholder management.

  • Ability to work across boundaries within Marketing Organization with Campaign Leads, Market Intelligence Manager and Communication & Digital Lead but also outside with Crop Protection Development (CPD) Team and Sales Team

Additional Information
