YOUR ROLE
The Ocean Pricing & Quoting Administrator is responsible for preparing competitive ocean freight quotations, maintaining rate databases, and supporting the sales and operations teams with accurate and timely pricing solutions. The role ensures all quotes are in line with company strategy, carrier contracts, and customer requirements to maximize profitability and conversion rates.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Purchasing Management
- Identify, evaluate, and standardize supplier services and specifications.
- Build and maintain a supplier database; define purchasing strategies.
- Conduct supplier negotiations and formalize contractual terms.
- Process internal purchase requests, obtain quotations, and confirm orders.
Quotation & Pricing Operations
- Receive and analyze customer quotation requests and requirements.
- Source supplier rates and verify service availability.
- Calculate costs, develop competitive pricing, and negotiate terms with customers.
- Prepare, issue, and manage quotation offers through to final agreement.
Customer Service & Coordination
- Serve as the primary customer contact, ensuring clear communication before, during, and after operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, partners, and internal teams to ensure service quality and timely information flow.
- Manage incidents, disputes, and customer feedback; implement corrective actions to improve service and pricing accuracy.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
- 2–4 years of experience in pricing, quotation, or purchasing roles within the freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics industry.
- Proven experience in handling ocean freight quotations (FCL/LCL) and coordinating with carriers and overseas agents.
- Experience working with customers, suppliers, and internal sales/operations teams to provide accurate and competitive pricing.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and trade compliance
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for cost analysis and rate comparison).
- Experience with freight forwarding or ERP systems (e.g., CargoWise, CRM, or similar).
- Knowledge of carrier portals and rate management tools.
- Understanding of freight rates, surcharges, tariffs, and logistics costing models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.
