Geologist / Hydrologue sp cialis (e) in Catastrophe Risk Modeling
As part of strengthening its activities in natural risk management and modelling, our client is recruiting a Geologist / Hydrologist specializing in Catastrophe Risk Modelling.
You will be involved in projects with significant scientific and strategic importance related to the evaluation, analysis and modeling of natural risks (floods, earthquakes, landslides, etc.), with a direct impact on decision support and risk management.
Main tasks:
- Developing and improving disaster risk models
- Analyze geospatial and hydrological data
- Exploiting and processing complex databases related to natural hazards
- Use simulation tools to estimate potential impacts
- Participate in the production of technical and cartographic reports
- Collaborating with the data, actuarial and risk management teams
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile :
- Master's degree (Bac+5) / Engineering degree or Doctorate in Geology, Hydrology, Earth Sciences or equivalent
- My proficiency in Python and/or R
- Good knowledge of GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Proven experience in natural hazard modeling
- Scientific rigor, analytical mind and ability to synthesize
- Good level of technical English appreciated.
- Insurance Experience / Insurance
- Knowledge of the disaster modelling domain
- Experience in international environments or data science projects applied to risk
