Roles & Responsibilities
The Engineer is expected to deliver services to the Wheel Development Team within the Chassis Design Division. The services include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
1. Develop Wheels and Wheel Caps for OE and/or Accessory Applications
- Conduct target-setting investigations (mass, cost, performance requirements, etc.).
- Formalize agreed targets into Wheel (Cap) Planning Drawings and RDDP (Request for Design & Development of Part).
- Lead development activities to achieve agreed targets in close collaboration with key stakeholders (Stylists, Suppliers, etc.) during the design feasibility stage.
- Confirm target achievement on actual wheels and wheel caps, with the necessary analyses and countermeasures to meet project milestones.
- Collaborate closely with downstream stakeholders, such as assembly plants, to ensure smooth production preparation.
- Ensure timely release of drawings and related technical documentation throughout the full development project lifecycle.
- Report development status and proactively escalate issues to divisional management and external stakeholders.
2. Proceed with Technical Development for Wheels & Wheel Caps
- Execute pre-study and/or pre-development activities for future technology applications.
- Ensure project deliverables are achieved within defined constraints (schedule, budget, etc.).
- Deliver clear and timely reports to budget providers and divisional management with a customer-oriented mindset.
3. Contribute to Improved Working Methodologies
- Identify issues and improvement opportunities within the current development process.
- Propose relevant countermeasures and drive or support their implementation.
4. Support Mass Production Concerns
- Quality : Investigate customer field issues as needed and implement effective corrective actions within agreed timelines.
- Cost : Analyze cost reduction opportunities, assess all relevant side effects, and implement approved countermeasures within the defined timeframe.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education : Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience : 3+ years of proven experience in project management within automotive or mechanical engineering environments.
- Technical Skills : Strong understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Soft Skills : Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Languages : Proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).
