Roles & Responsibilities

In the Core Infra department, the center of expertise brings together the experts dealing with the client's server infrastructures: Unix/Backup/Storage, Windows/Virtualization, IBM I, Scheduling, DBA and IBM Z.

The IBM Z Expert, responsible for the quality of RUN services, intervenes to support the Tech Lead in technological governance, operational management of IT outsourcing, project management and maintaining the platform in operational condition.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Tech Lead as the design authority in dealing with the Digital Factories and the managed services provider (Kyndryl). Ensuring compliance with client standards and mainframe stability.
• Validate technical changes, manage the supplier relationship and simplify complex issues for management.
• To manage and coordinate transformation projects.
• Monitor CPU metrics to identify consumption anomalies and propose solutions.
• optimization.
• Monitoring of Rational Operational Conditioning (MCO)
• Managing the software and hardware lifecycle to anticipate obsolescence (objective: 100% of the fleet)
• support ).
• Supervise the operation of the managed service provider and orchestrate rigorous communication (notification, start/end of operation) with stakeholders.
• Incident Management (Incidentology)
• Analyze incidents (Production/Test) and lead the bi-monthly reviews of the Z expertise center.
• Guide the search for root causes and continuous improvement with the managed service provider.
• Co-manage the crisis cells with the Run Manager, with an objective of autonomy and proactivity.

Technology Stack / M tiers: The main components of the IBM Z
Mainframe infrastructure . IBM zSeries servers example: Z16 (HMC, PR/SM, CF, ICF, zIIP, CBU...) DS8800 (FICON, CHPID, CTC...) VST7700, TS3500... The system and its subsystems are placed in Sysplex. z/OS (HCD, GDPS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, VTAM, TCP/IP, RACF…) RMF, TDS, WLM… DFSMS, HSM… CICS, CPSM, IBM Omegamon, DB2 and DataSharing, Broadcom DBM, Infotel InfoLOAD. MQ in SharedQueue, CFT IWS, TSA ASM, Cobol. Knowledge observability (exple: grafana)

Skills:
- Ability to write clear and precise operational documentation.
- Project management
- Analytical skills to identify and correct malfunctions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bac+5 education (engineering school or university) oriented towards computer science;
Experience of more than 7 years as a system administrator or IBM Z production +
project management
. Experience in the retail / mass distribution sector would be an advantage.
