Platform Operations Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Platform Operations Engineer to support day-to-day operation and monitoring of the on-premise infrastructure deployed under the DGSN Morocco program. The ideal candidate will have solid Linux and networking fundamentals, experience in shift-based production environments, and a disciplined approach to incident management and escalation. This role is critical to maintaining the 24/7 availability and performance of the platform infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations & Monitoring
Operate and monitor infrastructure components including compute, storage, and network during assigned shifts.
Perform daily infrastructure health checks and validate system status across all components.
Monitor CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network utilization using available monitoring tools.
Identify failed or degraded services and execute recovery actions in accordance with runbooks.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
Perform L1/L2 troubleshooting for infrastructure and network connectivity issues.
Review Linux system logs and infrastructure alerts to detect and analyze anomalies.
Log all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the Service Management System.
Escalate unresolved issues to senior platform or product teams with full supporting evidence.
Maintenance & Change Activities
Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and planned change activities.
Support infrastructure upgrade, patching, and configuration tasks as directed.
Follow established operational procedures and contribute to runbook improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2–4 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure or platform operations.
Linux administration experience, preferably Red Hat-based systems (RHEL, CentOS).
Solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls).
Experience operating production systems in a shift-based or 24/7 NOC environment.
Familiarity with ITSM processes and service management platforms.
Ability to analyze logs, interpret monitoring dashboards, and identify root causes.
Desired Candidate Profile
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
Exposure to virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM).
Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation of routine tasks.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a mission-critical environment.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Languages: English,French and Arabic is strongly preferred given the Morocco deployment context.
Domain Knowledge (Preferred)
Public Safety & Security Systems: Familiarity with the operational requirements of government or law enforcement technology platforms is an advantage. Experience supporting mission-critical systems for national security, border management, or public safety agencies is highly desirable.
Shift-Based & On-Call Operations: Proven ability to maintain discipline, focus, and quality of work across rotating shifts and on-call rotations for critical incident response.
