Job Description

Validation Engineering Co-Op Overview

The Quality Assurance Validation department is responsible for plant validation including validated system (Equipment/Process), risk/design and change control compliance. Our team ensures alignment with Global Quality Systems for validation and related functions, e.g. engineering, risk management. 


Location: Worcester, MA 


Key responsibilities include: 


The Validation Engineering position will support the planning and execution of tasks reporting into the QA Validation department. This role will support various areas of manufacturing and/or Quality Control (QC) and interact heavily with our quality organization. Expectations of the role include: 


  •  Execute task as required to implement the Validation Master Plan 


  •  Participate with external engineering and QC departments on new installations, system modifications and decommissioning 


  •  Draft and execute validation plans, and validation protocols in compliance with cGMP practices 


  •  Ensures investigations of validation failures are completed thoroughly and documented accurately 



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications  


  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related field 


  • Must be enrolled in school at the time of the Co-Op 


  • Must be able to commit to a 6-month program at AbbVie Bioresearch Center (ABC) in Worcester, MA (January – June). 


Preferred Qualifications 


  • Organization, attention to detail, communication, self-starter, ability to ask questions, time management, etc. 


  • Equipment-based or instrumentation / installation project exposure a plus 


  • Experience working in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
