Description Of The Position
The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Laayoune seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher in Food Technology to conduct advanced studies on animal-based food matrices. This full-time role involves leading innovative projects in food science, safety, and product development while contributing to publications and advancing the field. Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, analyzing findings, and optimizing experimental protocols. The researcher will prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and contribute to funding proposals. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring students, and participating in project management are essential. The candidate will also uphold safety and ethical standards while driving new research directions aligned with ASARI's mission. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Research and Analysis: Conduct high-quality, independent research in food product quality, processing, and safety; Analyse, interpret, and document complex research findings to advance the field of food technology; Develop, validate, and optimize experimental protocols and research methodologies; Compare actual and expected research results, identify deviations, and propose solutions to address these discrepancies. Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals; Present research findings at national and international conferences; Assist in the preparation of research proposals to secure funding and support for future projects; Write detailed technical reports and contribute to progress reports for ongoing projects.
Education
- A Ph.D. in in Food Science, Food Technology, or close related field.
Requirement
- Research Expertise: Demonstrated experience in food processing, quality control, food quality, sensorial and nutritional aspects, microbiological safety, and related areas; Proven ability to conduct independent research, with a strong record of scientific publication. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, with experience in data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation; Ability to evaluate and improve research methodologies and protocols. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French, with the ability to write clear and impactful scientific papers; Ability to effectively present research findings to diverse audiences, including academia, industry, and stakeholders. Teamwork and Mentorship: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment; Experience mentoring and supervising students or junior researchers, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive research environment.
