Job :
Reporting to the Head of the Technical Division, the Junior Mine Planning Engineer is responsible for providing mine planning services, with a focus on short-term and strategic planning, while coordinating and providing mine plans and execution schedules to the Operations team. He/she will also be responsible for developing the 3MS at the end of each month with 18-month plans, life-of-mine (LOM) budget scenarios, conducting a monthly strategic analysis of deviations from plans and actuals to identify gaps. This position will be a rotational (fly in/fly out) position based at the Zgounder mine in Morocco.
Mine Planning
- Prepare and develop LOM and budget scenarios.
- Prepare 18-month rolling mine plans to ensure operational alignment with the LOM plan and annual budget.
- Prepare the 3MS plan at the end of each month to ensure operational alignment with the annual budget.
- Prepare and monitor the weekly schedule feed.
- Attend and facilitate weekly and monthly meetings.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between planned and actual results.
- Analyze and advise on strategic risks and opportunities identified in all planning functions.
- Perform and optimize mine design.
- Prepare clearly written monthly reports and other required documents
- Generate weekly and monthly reports.
- Optimize the mine plan to maximize the extraction of mineralized zones and minimize dilution.
- Liaise daily with planning and other departments.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues to ensure safe and successful development and execution.
- Assist in identifying efficiency gains and cost savings.
- Ensure HSE practices and a safe work environment and cooperate with the HSE department.
- Perform other duties as required to support company objectives.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Periods of time will be spent on site in a supervisory role as part of ongoing development.
- Adhere to and support all company-related policies and procedures.
Interface Management
- Manage the interface between geology, planning, surveying, and operations.
- Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with employees and contractors.

- Ensure all mine activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures.

Geographic location of the position: Zgounder mine, Askaoun Municipality, Taliouine District, Taroudant Province.
Work schedule: 20 days on / 10 days off rotation

Required profile :
- Bac+5 level education: geology, mining
- Experience: Junior, with knowledge of underground and open-pit mine planning.
Technical skills:
- Knowledge of open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Good knowledge of the Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Basic knowledge of blasting schemes (drilling, blasting, shot plans).
- Basic knowledge of open-pit and underground mining processes.
- Basic knowledge of operational equipment in open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Attention to detail

- Knowledge of mine planning software (Deswik is an asset).
