We are recruiting a Scrap Preparation & Transfer Manager to join our dynamic team.

Mission:

• Ensure the smooth operation of scrap preparation, treatment, and transfer operations, as well as the management and optimization of scrap yard storage, while respecting quality, safety, health, environment, and energy requirements, along with all associated regulatory and normative requirements for the products. In parallel, ensure proactive management of the scrap reception team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Quality, Hygiene, Safety, Environment, and Energy (QHSEE) rules;
• Ensure the availability and conformity of all safety equipment for the individual and collective protection of employees;
• Implement documents related to scrap treatment and transfer operations;
• Manage all operations related to the preparation, transfer, and storage of different grades of scrap.
• Supervise a team of operational staff, ensuring their training and safety;
• Ensure compliance with current environmental and safety standards;
• Optimize scrap management and treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs;
• Decide on the scrap treatments to be carried out
• Perform the necessary treatments for scrap to ensure its conformity with steel mill requirements
• Establish and monitor performance indicators for the scrap treatment, preparation, and transfer process;
• Participate in the development of strategies for the scrap yard's development;
• Manage the flow of scrap to be prepared and the prepared scrap;
• Develop and maintain performance monitoring dashboards for scrap treatment, preparation, and transfer operations;
• Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with safety and quality standards;
• Lead, train, and motivate the operational team;
• Organize schedules and daily tasks for the team to optimize productivity;
• Analyze operational performance and identify areas for improvement;
• Prepare regular reports for management on the activities of the scrap yard reception;
• Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality service and partner satisfaction;
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure good communication and coordination of operations.
• Participate in piloting audits of the ISO 9001 quality management system;
• Ensure traceability and treatment of returns from rolling mills and steel mills;
• Establish and review personnel work plans;
• Train personnel on control standards and specifications in the metallurgy field;
• Ensure the good condition of provided PPE and their correct use;
• Contribute to environmental protection by respecting waste management and sorting procedures generated at the workstation;

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of traceability and waste management systems.

• Proficiency in computer tools and software (Sage X3)

• Understanding of scrap treatment and preparation methods;

• Knowledge of scrap grades;

• Knowledge of metallurgical concepts;

• Proficiency in geometric and dimensional controls;

• Knowledge of integrated management systems (ISO 9001/45001/14001).
