Job :
- Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with established safety standards;
- Ensure the safety of personnel and the proper functioning of facilities
- Draft work procedures and ensure their respect and application;
- Manage a team of operators in the metallurgy laboratory and in the various sectors of the plant that require metallurgical intervention;
- Manage all activities related to the metallurgy laboratory and ensure a good distribution of tasks;
- Conduct metallurgical tests in the laboratory, complete test sheets, and follow up on sample analysis;
- Compile metallurgical test data, analyze results, and produce reports;
- Provide technical support to the metallurgy and operations teams;
- Perform various samplings, various controls of operating parameters and measuring instruments;
- Ensure metallurgical reporting;
- Communicate closely with the operations team to ensure plant performance.
Required profile :
Knowledge:
- Hold a degree or Bac+2 diploma in metallurgy (mineral processing), chemical engineering, process engineering, or any other equivalent diploma;
- Have experience in mineral processing operations;
- Experience in chemical analysis and conducting metallurgical tests is an asset.
Skills:
- Have relevant experience of at least two (2) years in the mining industry, specifically in mineral processing and/or in a metallurgical laboratory;
- Master sampling procedures;
- Master the use of chemicals;
- Have training or experience in health and safety in various work environments is an asset;
- Be punctual in report writing.
- Have an analytical mind;
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
