- HSSE Professional to act as a ‘trusted advisor,’ collaborating with HSSE Team, Supervisors and workers, as a critical partner providing recommendations with appropriate judgment on HSSE issues.
- HSSE leader to support plant in the implementation of HSSE systems and safe work practices, aiming to cultivate a safe and healthy working environment
- HSSE coach and mentor inspiring employees, promote a culture of safety, trust, and care, and enhance environmental stewardship.
- To set high safety standards by serving as an influencer and catalyst for change, and by fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders
TECHNICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Regulatory and Compliance Management
- Support HSSE team in ensuring the plant operations meet all applicable safety regulations and standards requirements
HSSE Management and System
- Support HSSE team in the implementation of a systems approach to health, safety, and environment in accordance with the International Standards, local HSSE regulations and best practices.
HSSE Risk Management
- Support HSSE team and supervisors in conducting risk assessments, job hazard analysis and ensuring controls in place.
Incident Management and Investigation
- Report observations, incidents and near misses immediately.
- Participate in investigations of incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Emergency Readiness
- Support the plant in the implementation of emergency response plans. Coordinate drills and exercises to test emergency procedures and response capabilities.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation including training records.
- Assist HSSE team in gathering the HSSE statistical data (safety, environmental, waste etc.) required for monthly reporting.
Training and Development
- Support in the delivery of basic HSSE training including inductions to educate employees on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices. Ensure all personnel understand the potential hazards.
HSSE Inspections & Surveillance
- Conduct daily tours to ensure compliance with safety practices and FPI policies.
- Inspect welfare facilities (canteens, toilets, changing rooms, prayer room) to meet standards.
- Oversee contractor activities to ensure adherence to site safety rules. Verify Permits to Work (if required)
- Regularly check and inspect firefighting equipment.
- Inspect and refill First Aid boxes as needed.
- Inspect emergency showers and eye wash stations Maintain safety equipment (PPE, crane slings) to prevent failure.
- Ensure employees are provided with sufficient, correct and good condition PPE and safety equipment for their roles.

SPAN OF COMMUNICATION
- Internal: Serve as a supporter to the HSSE team in liaising between production, operations and maintenance to communicate safety-related information and safety best practices, and foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability

JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY)
- Stops work if unsafe, working under the general direction of the HSSE Manager with personal accountability for outputs. Determines when issues should be escalated to a higher level.
Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or related field
HSSE Certifications:
- NEBOSH International General Certificate in OHS (preferred)
- ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 Auditor (preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSSE in a manufacturing industry
- Some audit experience would be a beneficial.
- Experience in incident investigations and delivery of basic HSSE training
