The Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab (MEL) is looking to hire a Senior Research Associate (SRA) to coordinate its research efforts to foster a culture of evidence-based policymaking in Morocco. The Senior Research Associate will support the implementation of an impact evaluation conducted by a team of international researchers in partnership with the UM6P- OCP ecosystem. This position will be based in our offices at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic campus in Rabat.The MEL works in close collaboration with the public, private, NGO, and philanthropic sectors in Morocco to conduct evaluations that speak to their priorities and share rigorous evidence to inform their decisions.The position offers a unique opportunity for the Senior Research Associate to support the research infrastructure of the Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab and assist the research project in the design and implementation of impact evaluations as well as data collection, management, and analysis, in an organization undertaking cutting-edge development research. The Senior Research Associate will be directly supervised by the MEL s Director and the Research Manager. The Senior RA will work closely with senior staff from J-PAL and CID, academic researchers and other field staff to perform a variety of research tasks. This research project is a qualitative pilot study designed to inform the development of a full randomized controlled trial (RCT) aimed at strengthening equity in 1337's admissions process. It is conducted by affiliated and international researchers, including Esther Duflo (MIT), Bruno Crepon (ENSAE), Rema Hanna (Harvard University), Florencia Devoto (UM6P), and Kamil Kohen (Paris School of Economics).<h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3>The Senior Research Associate is responsible for the supervision of the project and its successful implementation in the field, which includes:<ul><li>Propose and, as appropriate, implement innovations in the different stages of a project in coordination with Principal Investigators;</li><li>Maintain and grow effective relationships with partner organizations;</li><li>Oversee and lead the field research activities, including the implementation of the evaluation, according to the research design in coordination with partners;</li><li>Supervise a maximum of two Research Associates working on the projects;</li><li>Assist with hiring survey firms, including drafting terms of reference;</li><li>Liaising with field staff running the evaluations and collaborating with them including travel to research field sites;</li><li>Conduct background research in conjunction with field research activities;</li><li>Designing survey questionnaires, conducting qualitative research, refining study design and surveying instruments;</li><li>Supervise in person or phone data collection and ensure the good quality of the data;</li><li>Assist with the preparation of administrative databases;</li><li>Assist with data cleaning and preliminary data analysis; and</li><li>Any other work assigned by Principal Investigators.</li></ul>He/she will also be responsible for ensuring good communication and organization on a daily basis:<ul><li>Facilitate, strengthen and maintain effective and efficient communication as the primary contact point with Principal Investigators;</li><li>Provide periodic updates on project activities to PIs and subject experts;</li><li>Participate in the planning and design of any outreach activities;</li><li>Ensure that project activities are on schedule and prepare project update reports according to agreements with funders and partners.</li></ul>Desired Candidate Profile<h3>Requirements</h3><h4>Education:</h4>A Master's Degree in economics, public policy, mathematics, statistics or related technical fields including training in microeconomics, econometrics, statistics, and advanced mathematics; Graduate-level coursework in economics is a plus.<h4>Experience:</h4>Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of research experience; Experience with STATA and/or R data analysis software is a must; experience interpreting data analysis; experience with academic writing; Experience with budget management is a plus; Experience with living in Morocco is a strong advantage.<h3>Skills</h3>Very strong quantitative, organisational, and communication skills are necessary; Fluency in French and in English. مختبر الابتكار والتقييم في المغرب (MEL) يبحث عن تعيين كبير باحث مساعد (SRA) لتنسيق جهوده البحثية لتعزيز ثقافة صنع السياسات المبنية على الأدلة في المغرب. سيوفر كبير الباحثين المساعدين دعمًا لتنفيذ تقييم أثر تُجَرىه فريق من الباحثين الدوليين بالشراكة مع منظومة UM6P- OCP. سيعتمد هذا المنصب في مكاتبنا بكلية محمد السادس متعددة التخصصات في الرباط.يعمل MEL بتعاون وثيق مع القطاعات العامة والخاصة والمنظمات غير الحكومية والمؤسسات الخيرية في المغرب لإجراء تقييمات تُعبر عن أولوياتهم وتشارك أدلة صارمة لإبلاغ قراراتهم.يوفر المنصب فرصة فريدة لكبير الباحثين المساعدين لدعم بنية البحث في مختبر المغرب للابتكار والتقييم ومساعدة مشروع البحث في تصميم وتنفيذ تقييمات الأثر إضافة إلى جمع البيانات وإدارتها وتحليلها، في مؤسسة تعمل على أبحاث تنموية رائدة. سيخضع كبير الباحثين المساعدين مباشرة لإدارة MEL ومدير البحث. سيعمل كبير الباحثين المساعدين عن كثب مع كبار الموظفين من J-PAL وCID وباحثين أكاديميين وموظفي ميدان آخرين لأداء مجموعة متنوعة من المهام البحثية. هذا المشروع البحثي عبارة عن دراسة تجريبية نوعية تهدف إلى إبلاغ تطوير تجربة عشوائية محكومة كاملة (RCT) تهدف إلى تعزيز العدالة في عملية قبول 1337. وهو يقام بواسطة باحثين منتسبين ودوليين، بمن فيهم إيستر دوبلو (MIT)، برونو كريپون (ENSAE)، ريما هانا (جامعة هارفارد)، فلورنثيا ديفوتو (UM6P)، وكامل كوهن (مدرسة باريس للاقتصاد).<h3>المسؤوليات الرئيسية:</h3>يكون كبير الباحثين المساعدين مسؤولاً عن الإشراف على المشروع وتنفيذه بنجاح في الميدان، بما في ذلك:<ul><li>اقتراح وتنفيذ الابتكارات في المراحل المختلفة من المشروع بالتنسيق مع رؤساء التحقيقات؛</li><li>الحفاظ على علاقات فعالة مع منظمات الشركاء وتطويرها؛</li><li>الإشراف وقيادة أنشطة البحث الميداني، بما في ذلك تنفيذ التقييم وفق تصميم البحث بتنسيق مع الشركاء؛</li><li>الإشراف على حد أقصى لاثنين من باحثي مساعدين يعملون في المشاريع؛</li><li>المساعدة في توظيف شركات الاستقصاء، بما في ذلك صياغة بنود المرجع؛</li><li>التواصل مع طاقم الميدان المشرف على التقييمات والتعاون معهم بما في ذلك السفر إلى مواقع البحث؛</li><li>إجراء بحوث خلفية بالتزامن مع أنشطة البحث الميداني؛</li><li>تصميم استبيانات المسح، إجراء البحث النوعي، تحسين تصميم الدراسة وأدوات المسح؛</li><li>الإشراف على جمع البيانات حضورياً أو هاتفياً وضمان جودة البيانات؛</li><li>المساعدة في إعداد قواعد البيانات الإدارية؛</li><li>المساعدة في تنظيف البيانات والتحليل الأولي لها؛</li><li>وأي أعمال أخرى يكلف بها رؤساء التحقيقات.</li></ul>كما سيكون مسؤولاً عن ضمان التواصل المنظم والفعّال يومياً:<ul><li>لتسهيل وتقوية والحفاظ على تواصل فعال وكفؤ كنقطة اتصال رئيسية مع رؤساء التحقيقات؛</li><li>تقديم تحديثات دورية عن أنشطة المشروع إلى الرؤساء الخبراء؛</li><li>المشاركة في التخطيط وتصميم أي أنشطة توعية؛</li><li>التأكد من أن أنشطة المشروع في الجدول الزمني وإعداد تقارير تحديث المشروع وفق شروط الاتفاق مع الممولين والشركاء.</li></ul>الملف المرغوب فيه للمرشح<h3>المتطلبات</h3><h4>التعليم:</h4>درجة الماجستير في الاقتصاد أو السياسة العامة أو الرياضيات أو الإحصاء أو مجالات تقنية ذات صلة تشمل التدريب في الاقتصاد الجزئي والاقتصاد القياسي والإحصاء والرياضيات المتقدمة؛ وجود مقررات دراسية عليا في الاقتصاد يعد ميزة.<h4>الخبرة:</h4>خبرة لا تقل عن 3 سنوات ذات صلة، بما في ذلك سنتان من الخبرة البحثية؛ يجب خبرة في تحليل البيانات باستخدام STATA و/أو R؛ وجود خبرة في تفسير تحليل البيانات؛ وخبرة في الكتابة الأكاديمية؛ وجود خبرة في إدارة الميزانية ميزة؛ وجود خبرة في العيش في المغرب ميزة قوية.<h3>المهارات</h3>مهارات كمية وتنظيم وتواصل قوية جداً ضرورية؛ الطلاقة في الفرنسية والإنجليزية. إجادة العربية ميزة قوية؛ المرونة، الدافع الذاتي، القدرة على إدارة مهام متعددة بكفاءة، وروح الفريق؛ القدرة على إدارة العلاقات عالية المستوى مع منظمات الشركاء؛ الإلمام بطرق التقييم والتجارب العشوائية المحكومة مفضل؛ القدرة على العمل تحت الضغط والوفاء بالمواعيد النهائية.
